[2.5] The FireFly (Burning HoT - insane damage)

Did you consider using gloves crafted with essence of hysteria which is adding fire damage? That would give way more damage than +1 level.

HoT has 120% damage effectiveness, so 175-225 damage would turn into 210-270 while going from L24 to L25 gives only 5-220 lightning, it would also keep usual mana cost.

However I chose to skip the essence league so I may not have access to gloves like that.


Edit - Just realized you missed something. +1 voidbringers provides +2 to HoT. +1 from the corrupt, and +1 from the explicit mod. Secondly, the corrupted mod increases empower by 1 level. So the voidbringers provide +3 levels to HoT, and +1 to all supports. Technically, the voidbringers are better, but still you could roll some other mods on hysteria gloves. And if your're really lucky you could craft +1 skills hysteria gloves I believe. Now that would be insane.

Also, Hysteria on a belt grants another 5% pen while using a flask. That would lead to 70% pen. I might have to make a character to farm a few of these things.

109 skill points
10 jewel slots
164% increased life
135% mana regen

I cant say how well it can perform as I dont have another witch to test it on.
I would recommend using a kaom's heart or Carcass Jack or Belly of the beast.

can i play this build? if i don't have grand spectrum viridian. because it very expensive thank you.

yes. instead of using grand spectrum's you can use izaro's turmoil. You will steal needs lots of them but they are far cheaper. If those are still too expensive, look for jewels with %fire damage AND %cold damage. I checked while writing this, and the rare jewels cost 1c each. If you are lucky, you can get ones with cold, fire, and even increased damage for a total of 42% increased damage.


Also to to save money, someone also recommended using the essence gloves with +fire damage for HoT.

10 Spectrum jewels, that's about 30ex on standard now... How bad is the cheaper alternatives compared?

I'll let you know how it goes :) Although, I'm probably one of those noobs who won't be able to get the hang of it.

Honestly, the damage will only be noticeable when fighting bosses without grand spectrums.

I'm tempted to make the build in Essence league just to prove its possible, but I do not look forward to leveling another character again =/

Why not use a "more elemental damage" on the helmet and put your HoT there ?
