Hi all you experience CoC Discharge folks. I have a couple of questions and hoping you can help. I have reread the guide many times and having a blast. Figuring out CoC discharge at lvl 38 was tough, but I added firestorm and having fun learning out to play this (never done cyclone or discharge).


1. How are you crafting the 4g in the 6link? Are you using the guaranteed 3 green craft or are you just rolling and hoping to get lucky? I am asking cause i have 3g2b1r right now, but obviously no helm enchant. Should i start rerolling these colors or wait till i get to 68 and then worry about it.

2. Does the cold spell damage rolls on Cospri's matter at all?

3. Best Voll's ammy corruption (asked but i haven't seen an answer)?


4. Where should my next skill points go (i have nightstalker for dagger)? My gear is shit other than 6L but so far in act 1 cruel I am making the coc work with out voll's amulet. I put in discharge and firestorm in the 6l cyclone to help with damage and I am running blasphemy. Obviously this would be impossible with out Vagan dagger.

5. What should I buy next? Voll ammy or get cospri's to make sure I am ready at 68??

Haenic, I'd recommend reading through the pages of comments. There are some solid leveling suggestions by folks and Mad.

For example:

This is a coc setup that doesn't rely on discharge and does high damage. Good for leveling:

Cyclone - Cast on Crit - Vortex - Inc crit strikes - Faster Attacks - Bladefall

or the discharge version (weaker without devotion, needs warlord's mark)

Cyclone - Cast on Crit - Discharge- Inc crit strikes - Faster Attacks - Blade Vortex

Also reference Maddognil's leveling guide where he says:

I leveled to 41 with Axioms and blade vortex and switched to CoC discharge at 41.
Pick up a vagan dagger with AS/crit. and use Assasins mark on blasphemy. Level as hybrid until you can get 3,5k+ ES with CI. I don't recommend leveling as COC discharge without a Voll's devotion.

I ran the Discharge version myself and enjoyed it. Your current setup is all over the place. You don't need to be running two discharges unless you are just leveling it up as you go right now because as it stands the one in your dagger is doing nothing.

In addition, I'd consider running a totem like Decoy, as well as Vaal Skele for those times you need to saturate the area to soak up the hits.

You need to invest into some decent diamond rings, nothing crazy while you level but a diamond magic ring? c'mon! You can buy a far nicer cheap one even if you can't roll it.

Me personally I'd run different boots. Wanderlust are dirt cheap and keep you from being frozen - If you aren't spinning or discharging you aren't leaching which makes you a sitting duck. The guys in the library that hit with freezing pulse will brick you before you know it for example.

Besides lab enchantments, what other things should I look out for on my gear? I only have mana problems during boss fights mostly because jewels are a bitch to get. Spent all my currency on gear sadly.

Best that I HAVE SEEN (in other words, it's probably not the best) was a #% leech from lightning damage. That would have been delicious for sustain.

It's the 0.2% lightning damage leeched as life.

what nodes should i give up from the tree till i can replace my rings? realized after i bought the gloves i needed with the last bit of currency i have atm. noticed assassin has a lot less dex than pathfinder version had. that being said i was going out of the way to grab the 2 30dex nodes in the trees route for 3 points. would it be ok to sacrifice a jewel slot or should i give something else up instead? following what your tree has. ill have 213dex if i do which is 1 dex more than i need to literally have enough for malice. ill eventually re craft some rings but i just wanna ask first what my options of giving up 3 points on early game are.

Thanks for this - trying it out with bladefall, but I don't have the exact sockets to do either 6link so I modded it a bit.

u can live without it obviously but it is a decent luxury to have lv 21s

theres a lvl 100 on hardcore breach using this or similar http://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/r3631061/characters

I pm him in game he said he used contagion/Essence Drain till he got all his stuff. If that helps with people wondering how to l;vl in beggining.

Frankly I dont like it I like using 3 elreons with split arrow till mervil switch to rain of arrows with ondar gloves, storm cloud. Till act 3 I switch to ice trap cause all nodes for trap are nearby and easy to remove later on, also ice trap can start mapping at 63. :) hope helps!!
