All Guides on these forums aren't going to teach you how to tie your shoelaces, this is something that you should know already before you are here, so you are able to comprehend how things work.

Aaaand there you go again. So in your responses, you've stated I follow things "blindly", am confused, need my hand held, struggle to level, need help to tie my shoelaces, and don't comprehend how things work. The issues are obviously all on my end.

All of this, yet no update to the leveling section of your guide. I guess it's easier to paint other PoE players who have issues with the build as stupid and incompetent rather than to make your build better and address obvious deficiencies.

This build is very squishy (at least during leveling) and requires a well-defined balance in order to progress properly without numerous deaths/survivability issues. The guide should reflect this (and address this - clearly). It does not. It's that simple.

Anyone who follows this guide should be prepared to die - a lot. I'm merely recommending you update it so this isn't the case.
All that and a bag of chips!

I didn't have a problem with the guide. I created the character on Wednesday and it is level 91 now and facerolling T15+
You are way too entitled. So he needs to drop everything he's doing and rewrite the leveling section for you on new years because you couldn't bother to read the whole post carefully for a character you were going to dedicate hours to playing?

I leveled using this guide a few weeks ago and it worked just fine. You leveled in a way that makes it seem like you've never actually read any of the skill gems involved with the build, without the gear that the guide told you to have, and then came to the conclusion that the person who messed up was OP.

I'm gonna echo the "this build isn't for you" sentiment...
You seem to be the only one since the creation of this guide that has had a problem with it. Perhaps you should take that as a hint that you are the problem, not the guide.

I followed his guide and leveled to 85+ in about two days. This character pretty much face rolled the whole game once I hit 41-42 and switched to a 6L, volles devotion, and a vagan dagger. Depending on the colors of your 6L, you could go a few ways with proccing your discharges while leveling. I level with 3g3b, with cyclone in it. I shield charged into groups, cycloned, and they all died, bosses were a joke.

I'm also going to echo that maybe this build isn't for you if you cant figure out something so simple as leveling.

You don't fucking say, state the obvious.

I had the same problem.
After a bit of help in this thread instead of insulting the OP, I managed to finish Merciless just fine, here's how :

I had not issue until lvl 40. Level'd up with Ewar+Howa (low lvl version) and Frost Blades until then and literally cleared 1.5 screen at a time. Starting A2C shit started to hit real hard and didn't die as fast, since it's not a build designed to support Frost Blades or Ele Weapon Damage.

I kept dieing and dieing, and after asking for help here, here's what I found out what the solution (CoC discharge wasn't, even with a Vagan Dagger (no Voll's devotion, just dagger and 5L torso, wasn't nearly enough) : I bought proper ES gear on poe.trade instead of relying on twink gear (wanderlust, geom...) -gained about 1200ES-, I switched Blasphemy Assassin to Blasphemy Warlord to benefit Ghost Reaver more (that's the leech you're talking about btw...), and level'd up until 68 (where you get Cospris) as Blade Vortex.

The damage wasn't enormous, but I managed to finish Cruel quickly, and Merciless was fine.
What do you guys think of belt, as long as Headhunter is to expensive, which is the best ?
+1 endurance charge belt or the ES belt to get more es ? I dont know how mucg dps lose it will be without +1 endurance ? I use +1 now but want more ES (playing Standard)

What is the best corrupt for Voll's Devotion Agate Amulet?

I'm a complete newb to this game. Started 2nd week of Dec. I've only played HC. My softcore characters are the failed.

I tried to level this build with BV on my first attempt and died in my 30's. Said F it, and leveled to 41 on my own with what I was most comfortable with. At 41 I decided I wanted to level the rest of the way as Discharge.

I'll agree it was a challenging and not easy. My first priority was to read through the comments section and pick up some solid pointers. Things like the appropriate Voll's gem link while leveling. I also read, and re-read the guide many times - it felt like each time I gleaned new and pertinent information. Even then I still failed to use a Vagan dagger, and I also didn't have Voll's Devotion until 68. The key was a sensible approach to leveling. Decoy totem, avoiding breaches and other risky situations. Just get through the content and farm exp and levels in appropriate places. Join Parties with competent players. Let those people do the heavy lifting when you are at your squishiest (merc act 3). Once Act 4 I created a Dried lake leveling party and sat there for 2 hours doing laps until I was level 76.

Re-read guide again. Realized I did dumb stuff during leveling (like no Vagan/Voll).

Right now my char is 79 and still isn't that great (trickster). But I know my gems all suck, I don't have Vinktars, I don't have 6L, I don't have helm enchant. Despite this, I find I can smash through most things with the exception of some mobs in certain areas (Kaom's merc for example).

The guide isn't a comprehensive guide like some of those that absolutely spoil us out there. But if you are patient and ensure you understand how the build mechanics work you can figure out what you need.
Why don't you people just use a trypanon for lvling as CoC? It only costs 3c :)
