Cospri's Malice - Embrace it

As it stands, this item has several glaring problems:

-Forced to play as melee Assassin Shadow, which goes into Witch to get the Int requirements
-Shadow into Witch has horrid access to life and lacks any melee survivability
-No easy way to penetrate resistances, ele resistant mobs will laugh at you
-the sword crit cluster is in the opposite direction

The only way for this to work will require going CI and stacking ES. In which case you run into 0 mitigation problems (one shot scenario) with no sustain for your ES pool.

I strongly recommend you beg for some global life leech based on cold damage to be added.

PS: Damage will be insane, since there is nothing stopping you from playing this as a CoC character with your regular 5/6l. I just don't see how it will survive in higher tier maps.

Why are you required to play Assassin?

It's very similar to running other Inquisitor builds... and while the original pathing may be annoying and very empty for the first 40 levels or so, would allow you to get plenty of int, dex, spell damage, and would kill the need for any consideration for penetration.

Sure, it will require sacrifices to be made in order to meet stat requirements, but that is intended - exactly like Mjolner. Inc Crit will also be mandatory, but with 100% proc chance on crit, it's not terrible to have below 95% depending on what your proc skill is.

Except... not.

Since this item requires crit to work you have to stick to the right side of the tree. You have to spread your points between damage, life/es, crit and accuracy.

Sure, you can forgo Assassin and pick Trickster for the bonus evasion, ES and free mana cyclone, but your crit chance will plummet, thus directly reducing spell procs. The 1000 accuracy amulet is also a must-have item...

Mjolnir needs Str and not Dex. You can stick to the left side of the tree, grab RT and forget about accuracy and dex and crit nodes and focus on staying alive in the melee range you'll be. Str also gives you a lot of base life to keep you alive. The left side of the tree gives you a massive life pool + health regeneration for sustain, you also have access to pots. Thus you can actually stay alive.

Probably shouldn't argue with the item's creator, especially when they got confirmation that it is global.

i didnt see any "confirmation" besides what he stated earlier on page 2
Creator

I don't know if LostArtz has updated the OP, but he posted on Reddit that the chilled crit chance was global later in the day. If the creator was unsure a few hours ago and suddenly comes in simply saying it is global without any more hesitation or uncertainty much later like they did, I'd say that is enough to at least take their word for it unless GGG actually stepped in and stated what it was.
"It's all clearer now

This unique, the possibilities...thanks for the addition! I just hope it's not uber tier unique that never drops for casuals

Cheers! Necro

It's included in the FAQ now.

I can assure you, you're not forced into assassin. Any Witch, Shadow, and Scion can effectively use this weapon. Assassin will simply have the easiest time doing so. Personally I'm playing a dual-curse Low-Life Scion with the Elementalist & Assassin nodes.

You can view my gear and passives here: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/LostArtz/characters (character: Celestial_Bombardment)*

Dual curse is by no means necessary in my build, however it allows me to use Assassin's Mark thus increasing my Crit chance further and Discharge damage. Alternatively you can use something like the Vessel of Vinktar or Atziri's Promise in place Warlord's mark, but this requires you to be to be better at managing your flasks than I might be. =)

Think outside the box. If you instantly look at this weapon and go "assassin or nothing" you're only limiting your possibilities.

* Please note I don't have a Cospri's Malice yet at the time of posting this response. So my weapon and socketed gems inside my Shavs will be changing. I suggest checking this thread again for updated gears/gems within one week. And yes, I'm aware my gear is stupidly expensive. That's the price you pay when you min-max.
