Hey Gorno, great guide, man! I just have one doubt, how you manage to level up with firestorm until act 3 normal? Can you explain better to me how you do that? Because I tought that the Maraude would not get beneficiate since it will invest more in physical damage than spell damage. Thank you and I hope you can answer that to me. Cya o/

I'm pretty sure firestorm scales pretty well just with gem levels. But I suppose if you are going to keep leveling it you probably use the vendor recipe for a +1 fire gem wand and use that until switching to a 2H once you find an ok one or firestorm starts dropping off.

I was quite happily just leveling using ground slam and sunder once it became available but then I tend to level pretty slow.
So the patch notes are up.. What do you think? Still a good league starter?

Apart from the AoE/radius change that will most likely affect AW and reduce its range, I don't think it's been affected at all? I can't check right now but I think that base damage from 2H weapons also have been increased by ~10%, so if I'm not wrong it should play out exactly the same as last league.

Now I haven't run any test or anything, but from what GGG have said the nerf to AOE should mainly focus on builds that go all out AOE. This build only has 2 nodes and 1 gem for AOE so so they way GGG has worded the nerf it should not hit that hard as other builds. I plan on running a wc totem build myself
Is this real life ?
Is this build a good idea as a first character SSF in the legacy league? Is it efficient at clearing maps with good layouts, like shaped strand etc. Or is it more of a boss killer?

I was playing ur build through essence league.
Any big changes since that league?
Also when we can see ur updated build (i mean update to 2.6)?

Really big fan of you and your build :)
cheers
Hey! Nice guide and build, thank You!

I tried to practice season fast start with this build, and its really pain in the ass for first 10-12 levels.
What is the most efficient way to start 1-10? What spells should I use/mule?
I tried Heavy Strike / Cleave / Ground Slam, but misses decrease DPS a lot.

Maybe its better to go Fire Trap / Spark / Freezing pulse / Flame totem?

Also, is it viable to mule second quick silver flask?

Hey,

Start as a shadow to get freezing pulse, fire trap, and do the Nessa quest for a quicksilver flask. Dump everything in your stash, reroll as marauder, use these two spells (or fire trap/molten strike if you're feeling cheeky). Get the second quicksilver flask from Nessa.

Rush to Merveil, kill her, get Sunder and a big stick (highest damage 2H weapon you find along the way), equip sunder, rush for resolute technique, enjoy. Keep a molten strike with added fire somewhere for single target.

If you're running with a witch friend (I will be), ask him to get you a flame totem, as it will nicely boost your single target damage more or less passively. On bosses, just drop flame totem, fire trap, and start molten striking them.

Rock this to act 3, Gravicius, around at the same time you get Ancestral Bond, start wrecking shit. We did this with a friend in standard, in (semi-)SSF (trading with each other) and start of league conditions, and managed to get to cruel in like 2h50, with several screw ups. Objective is 2h30 for cruel this friday!

I ran this build in Breach, so far it is my most succesfull build, and I will gladly give you my 2 cents.

It could be your start char in the league, but expect somewhat slower start up to lvl 28. After you switch to AW + Ancestral Bond, it starts to be a wheeze. You will get to Merciless in no time.

But I won't recommend the build to SSF - getting Atrizi's Disfavor would be next to impossible, and that's where the build really shines. Not speaking about corrupted gloves. You need to move a lot of currency to acquire those beauties.

Thank You! I totally forgot about molten strike. Will go test this setup today.
