The complaint seems like a way to advertise a tool :/

Lmfao at "make a pet that costs 10 exalts" when the people choose their value. Demigod amulet is more than that and ill expect the same for a wreath

Also you people should keep in mind the size of the development team. These guys are a group of under 30 people (19 last I heard but more have joined since I believe)

Also the point of currency isn't just to trade it's to craft. The thing is people would play these races just to get orbs because it was so fast but either way I'd you really think that doing a race for a chance for an exalt is good you're wrong. There are much better ways to profit in that time.

CBf to type on iPod for now will go into detail later

Somebody is trying the League of Legends approach in a hope to earning more money. Which is pefectly fine. However:

Prizes suck I dont care about uniques, I want to craft my items with orbs!

Then don't play in the season.

Prizes are casual unfriendly Earning points to spend them for uniques? Really? So If you are 459 poits in the end you just wont get that shield???

Then don't play in the season.

Prizes takes too long to get I dont wanna spend 100 hours for one shield. Its not even casual unfriendly , its normal player unfriendly.

Go be casual somewhere else. Like, for example, by not playing in the season.

Where is inovation? Some people mentioned before..where is kill bosses race, cuthroat race, exp +300% race? Why is everything so dull?
Scrap it

Did you even read the announcement post? They're still testing and calibrating new race formats. But since you've already stated you "dont [sic] care about uniques," why would you care.

Inflation, seriously???? So instead of making ways to spend orbs you are limiting the gain to them? Now aint that stupid? Just make a pet that costs 10exalts/50gcp/150chaos. Thats the way to kill inflation. Also dont pull the d3 bullshit argument on me how much is economy crucial to gameplay, when you are the ones controling it 100% in the end(You can adjust all rates!!).

You should probably request a refund on that mail-order economics degree.

Its a shame hackers have to do your job. I expected more.

You should really focus guys.

Huh. Interesting company you keep.

Man they should hire you as PR. You could go all day long with that:

You dont like it? Dont play it! Simple!!!

P.S:

Yeah I read the other side too, whats wront with that. I am sorry you like your fox news world. But I dont believe , lets say blizzard..when they tell me ..oh guys game is so perfect there are no hacks and no hackers/bottes. I like to confront that with the hacker forum so I can see for myself if that company is true and respect customer, or it just lies to me like to a pig before butchers shop.
the idea is really great and i would love to play some of the races ...
but seriosly the prices are really bad imho.
i agree with some other people here, that it would be far more motivating to get some currency or random stuff with sockets.

something that is worth all the time spending on such events

im kinda new to this game, but i cant see the value of those items and as cool as this whole event is ... the prices dont give me the feeling that its worth playing it so much; /

Why are you guys arguing the extremes? Races don't need to cater to casuals and they don't need to cater to no-lifers. There can be a middle-ground. This new format unfortunately caters only to no-lifers both in terms of scheduling and in terms of reward structure.

1. They offered demigods and nice orbs in the last period of closed beta cause THEY NEEDED people to play considering the wipes... to make final fixes

2. They will make the season 2 better prolly. They need to stick to some of their decisions unless the players will decide everything, everytime.

Anyways, they want to milk POE now. I do understand those 6 years developing it were hard but game is not finished yet. Or at least not what was advertised. Whats the reason to mention ATTRITION & IRON LEAGUE if it will be in the game in ...2016?

No he just pointed that some people are douchebags and you just entered that club.
I think the ideal ratio for events like these would be about 90% self-contained, and 10% to the season. Right now, most players have absolutely nothing to show for their efforts after one event. There's no way I'll ever convince a friend of playing an event mid-season, aside from maybe curiosity, as there are no prizes.

If you can't throw in currencies, then give microtransaction points, or raft tickets or something. Everyone who kills Brutus gets one ticket. When the event ends, draw one prize per ~5 entries. Prizes don't have to be big, they just have to exist. Maybe some hardware company will chip in and throw additional prizes in.

Basically, you want to encourage participation, not just hardcorage. You have to get people to at least try races, so they will either get hooked and practice, or watch streamers perform. Either case is a huge win over the current system.

On a side note, you might want to introduce quick breaks for races. A 5 min break before the last hour for 2-3h races is enough. This simply increases the quality of life of players and allows some quick trash talk and speculation.
