ZiggyD Showcases Five Map Bosses from Atlas of Worlds
Nothing wrong having a game get worked on, but if you're not pro and more of a casual player it looks like the rework of the old maps will probably just make the maps that were more doable just more challenging. My 3-4th league and I just now got to my first T9 maps after trying several builds not copied through looking up other player's creations. Some people get might get burnt out losing 10% xp all the time on the more challenging maps. Hopefully there will still be some maps ranging for several players needs for wanting xp advancement and/or challenge.

So actually melee character are fucked because you need to always be in move and far away from boss.

Instead of completely dethroning Piety from the Temple Map, to make the map more interesting, Piety should be fighting alongside the new Riftwalker Boss (with a little bit of a larger battleground area) to make things more challenging. Or (for those who will probably cry foul about such a difficult duo) Piety should still be present 'somewhere' in the Temple map to fight her in a separate chamber/place.
Furthermore, the Rectar/Wrecktar Goat Boss (not sure about the exact spelling yet, though the second seems more fitting) could use a second battle skill/animation (other than one continuous leap attack) like a 'swipe' attack with a lot of AoE behind it that is sure to hit any player who gets too close. As for all the other bosses, I am looking forward to facing them on the battlefield. When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect. Don't judge the bosses strength off of one shotting a squishy ranged character. I look forward to face tanking them all.

" Why would they? He showcased a crap build and all of the bosses so far are .5 sec fodder. Or do you mean with actual melee the likes of Elemental Hit and Heavy Strike which just haven't been removed yet, because GGG can't be bothered? Rift Walker looks cool, but arbitrarily long. Fuck that. Portal Maze? Really? Design hit a new low. " No offense, but T9 is super casual. If you are not playing Hardcore you could put all your points in offense and still easily reach T9. Besides passive tree is mostly about balancing defense and offense. There are very very few nodes that impact the mechanics in a game altering way. |

Loving all of the new content to play, just wish there were different ways to play it. I sound like a spoiled brat saying this just because Ascension is still pretty new, yet I am feeling the same meh feelings when trying to decide what build to play. Boring.
Would love to see something like THIS: the female/male characters have sex creating new hybrid classes of each. The hybrid classes can be either male or female for starters. Each hybrid is balanced, so as not to be too OP making the parent obsolete. For instance, the witch and the marauder have a daughter, she is a bit of a tomboy, yet likes to throw fire around a LOT. Or, the ranger and the shadow have a son, he is athletic and quick, but a bit of a loner who likes sulking in dark places. THIS ^ (or something like it) and I would be hyped for the new expansion! Mix in some new skill gems for the kiddies = win. 🐢

I haven't played much 2H melee chars, not past level 85. The one I played past 85 is my 1H max block facebreaker gladiator, and I can tell that thing can face most of the stuff game throws at it, so I don't think game is that bad for shield melee toon and I am pretty sure it can handle these new bosses.
Though I am never too sure about 2H melee defenses, I always find them squishy in end game, or may be I don't have much experience playing them. Last edited by Tereng#1784 on Aug 26, 2016, 12:04:17 PM

Hopefully the reward for killing the new bosses is more than in the past. I am studying fast clearing vs. boss killing it seems to be more reward just to get the next Atlas level but I am sure you can create invite and have a party kill. Just some small thoughts.
