That would be true if it was just a handful of authors that were doing it. It's not a handful of authors, most of the threads were started by people that only started one thread. A tiny handful of people started up more than two threads. So your assertion fails the truth test.

A few people, like me, started more than a single thread. That's because there are many. many different shitty things about the lab, not just one aspect that can be contained in a single thread. The lab is just that horrible.

While I agree the Lab could be improved upon, I personally like the concept of it. Plus it isn't forced, it's optional content no matter how anyone words it.
I understand ppl don't like it for one or another reason, but to make it such a big deal like it's a game breaker is just irrational.

People play a game because they like to. PoE is that, just a video game, nothing more. Toss in shit, people don't like to do shit so it makes it a deal breaker for them. Simple enough.

At the end of the day it's still optional content, even if you don't like it you are not forced to play it to have a very good build or do Atziri, etc. Of course ascendancy classes can improve a build, but it's not a must have. Plus on top of all lab is not a major content in POE anyways, that's why I think it's irrational to be pushing for a rework of it (improvement I understand, but a complete rework I do not).

And what about the players that do like the lab? Will their opinion and feedback not be accaunted for or is that something that's also important to you?

Reality here is, people who are active on the forum represent only 1% of the population playing POE, so when they say they are speaking for the majority about their hate of the lab... they are wrong.

And secondly, the law of the silent majority, most people who enjoy something won't talk about it, they will just enjoy it, while the people who hate it will be most likely to voice their opinion. So even if the majority of the forum would be hating on the Lab it wouldn't be very accurate.


In the end the only ones who know where the majority reside are GGG, with the data they have about the game. Was Ascendancy a success? is the lab wildly runed? How many run of lab are done every day? Seeing there is no word from GGG talking about a "rework of the lab" after all this time, and the only thing close to a rework was actually a uber lab added in game, and furthermore we saw traps being added is some map boss fights and environnement, it's safe to say that the lab was mostly a success for the majority of the players.

Obviously not. If it was "just a video game", most of the Lab haters would be able to "just move on", either by overcoming Lab, ignoring Lab or stop playing. Since Lab represent a very short gameplay segment in a chars life.

But the heated reaction we see on the forum, suggests that PoE "is not just a game" for some and those people seem to be severely addicted, to the point Lab is causing them much pain and frustration which they vent on the forum. The Lab reaction is overly exaggerated and irrational.

And by cluttering the forum with these mostly useless threads, you are doing a disservice to your cause, further alienating neutral people.

yeah I can agree with that, everytime I see another fresh new lab thread added on the forum board, I get little more irritated each time.

at first I had no problem with people voicing their opinions I think it's fair and useful for the community. But now I see it as a mindless endless spam, and a poor excuse to annoy everyone and troll the community which result in a very toxic and less and less interesting forum to participate in.
