[3.17] The Warchief | [Facebreaker] Ancestral Warchief | Uber Boss Farmer | Beginner -> Expert

Do you think a ring with elemental weakness on hit is worth it ? If you replace fire pen with something else for example.
Hi,
really like the build and the playstyle is fun too! This is my second build overall, and really beginner friendly! I am currently lvl 88, and dying quite alot to normally easy stuff. My gear is pretty fine, still need Anointment but other then that I'm good. I'm mostly dying to normal Map mobs, not to bosses. Trying to not facetank, but it can be hard. Any advice?

Multiple Totem support has a LESS modifier while Melee Physical Totem has a MORE modifier.

BUT increasing totem counts itself was a MORE modifier that didn't calculated by PoB.

Going from one totem to two was a 100% more. Two to three was 50% more. Three to four was a 33% more. Four to five was 25% more. Five to Six was a 20% more...

-----

In the case of bossing with a +1 totem shield and an Ancestral Protector as buff, your Warchiefs are limited to two by default.

If you're using melee physical (49% MORE, 10% LESS AS),
Assuming 1 APS:
2 Warchief x 1.49 x 0.9 = 2.682

With Multiple Totem (21% LESS with +2 Totems):
4 Warchief x 0.79 = 3.16

If my math isn't wrong, using a Multiple Totem may give you slightly more DPS than melee physical in this senario.

-----

When not using Ancestral protector as buff,

If you're using melee physical (49% MORE, 10% LESS AS),
Assuming 1 APS:
3 Warchief x 1.49 x 0.9 = 4.023

With Multiple Totem (21% LESS with +2 Totems):
5 Warchief x 0.79 = 3.95

Melee Physical Damage is stronger in this case.

-----

DISCLAIMER: MY CALCULATION MIGHT BE INCORRECT.
I'm not really sure how to calculate the Less damage modifier in Melee Physical Support.

Try using this setup: Set the supporting protector on multiple totems. Then you can get 3 warchiefs with melee physical support, and you can cast 2 protectors additional for 5 totems out totally. You get the speed buff AND the melee physical with this method.

I'm using a 2-hander build at the moment with this setup, 2 + 2 totems out.

because you can use corrupted facebreaker with elemental weakness on hit, i dont think such a ring is worth it.

So I've spent just about all my energy and currency this league on this build and I have to say that while the build greatly benefits from scaling in certain areas like getting a crafted shield with +1 totems, the design as a whole just doesn`t scale well at all with large amounts of currency investment, but I like the build a lot. As soon as I crafted myself a +1 totem rare shield with life gain on block and spell block, mapping went from a decently paced mapping experience to drag racing, basically that 5th totem will always clean up mobs left behind by the first four totems, even in juiced tier 16 maps.

I also heavily disliked using chainbreaker as its actually more like putting a 2 ton iron ball on your back and forcing you to map slowly because movement skills will not work without spending about 10 rage.

Hi, nice to hear how your mapping got improved. would you be able to record a video from a map so i could put it into the video section for an actual showcase?

Here's a recording made about 10 mins ago. I chose a layout that's particularly difficult to traverse with shield charge to show that totem placement can make more irritating maps nicer to play.
I do not play with chainbreaker when mapping. But with chainbreaker, killing bosses is rather easy. I killed olroth within a minute with chainbreaker specced in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afsVNH__v3c

Is "add fire damage to attacks" the same as "add physical damage to attacks" for this build? Does the fire damage gets converted to physical then scale up with other modification? Or does it not get scale up with lets say "Increased global physical damage"?
I never understand how these calculation works in this game:P
Great build. Thank you for that!

Any idea why I cannot run Clarity, the two heralds and Blood and Sand at the same time? Well, I can, but cannot cast a totem then.

i saw your video, but got a heartburning question. How can you manage such an aggressive playstyle (shield charging into groups of mobs repeatingly) without worrying about defenses/oneshotting by mobs? From T14 onwards maps, i need to play kite and style, otherwise i will have at least 2-3 deaths per mapping. Currently i have close to 5k life, or unless u telling me ur 6k+ life helps a lot?
