Labyrinth would be fine if...

...the traps were replaced with something that belongs to the arpg genre.

This mechanism is just suitable this kind of game, it's so akward and annoying. The labyrinth could be a fantastic place if it was better implemented. Like you have tons of mods from past league you could re-use, mixed up some map mods, that would be so awesome with actual fight challenge.

Traps are stupid, you just need movement speed flask. The rest of the labyrinth is silly trash that do nothing and an extremely difficult boss (which is fine).

Change the lab so people enjoy spending time in it.

Note: get rid of trial too, that's the worse part.

In the way PoE implemented them, no. And there is no other arpg in diablo style that has traps like PoE. The closest thing to that you have optional puzzles in tl2, but they where smart to make it optional (only random loot at the end, no new mechanic or customization gated behind it), as they know a lot of people that play this type of games dont like puzzles or traps gameplay

In fact the suggestion from OP with mini flash back leagues in the lab that are different from zone to zone sounds a lot more fun and gameplay is of arpg games like PoE than the crap we got now.

No need for some shitty platforming or dumb puzzles.

Uber lab is basically perfect.

You run maps, you find trials, you do trials to get offerings. If you are too lazy or unwilling to do trials or play in a party and its never your map you pay a few chaos and go. But if you play in a party to map, there is no reason why you couldn't share keys\aka runs with others you normally play with.


If you don't feel its worthy of investment of time\currency simply to have access you can always do the merciless one instead.

Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF.
Uber lab should be the best place, it should be a thrilled experience for the whole run. It just doesn't deliver that, the only thrilling part is the last room where Izaro can have crazy mods.

Don't forgoet it's a lvl75 area, after lvl90 the XP earned there is nothing already.

Traps are dull, people at lvl60+ would still die in normal lab LOL

People play arpg for fast pace experience, smash monster and earn XP !
Traps are 100% against that and frustrate the player.

Of course you can just not play the lab... but why ? They spent so much effort in making it, why did it have to be so awful because of non-entertaining mechanism ?

I find the new style\series of traps to be kinda cool.


You can earn a lot more XP then you think by doing lab runs, despite the area being 75. I'd say you just kill to fill flask charges and such mostly, but if you have a damage and move ability that works well too.


Only a dumbass could die at 60+ in the normal lab and the only excuse otherwise would be "an act of God" where you have connection or other issues, even then it would have to be very severe.


People play ARPG for character progression and development, for finding the sick loot and pimping out the character, then facing whatever challenges face them. The lab is one of the challenges in the game. Not everything has to be like D3 where you just faceroll the entire game without giving 2 shits about anything.

Loot>XP and the lab provides that as rewards.

Totally agree. LAB IS FUCKED
At 90ish+ lab is horrible xp due to lab layouts. I mean it is statistically possible for the uberlab to be a great place for xp if every room is perfectly setup but chances of that are rather low. Running (the proper) maps is still the way to go.

Lab is not "totally fucked" but I totally agree that it is all about the last room. Like I said in that other topic 'Faceroll entire uberlab, only to potentially get insta-gibbed in last room'. No room for errors in last room. And pray for no lagspike, no dc/crash, etc.

Mob-level of 75 = a joke for lvl90+ characters and once you figure out how the traps work (there is a finite amount of them) you start facerolling them too with movement-skills. The thingies that cause damage when using movementskills = a joke. It's all about the final fight.

it's not even meant to provide XP grind at lvl 90. At this point you should be doing 78+ maps with quantity bonus & packsize.
