yeh i have good but not godly gear and feel like i have a lot of damage on tree im only at like 18k tooltip in hideout seems like its way too low for uber potential which is what im looking for. I love the survivability with ton of life and 40% mom which was a big reason i built heirophant. It seems like you should be able to get tooltip a lot higher with non crit given we are using 3 or 4 gems with "more multiplier" and have a ton of increased damage from tree. If anyone has much better tooltip, including the build creator, please let me know so i have something to look forward to. the build creator did mention HIGH dps but hasnt listed or shown tooltips

Because its not possible, at 18 to 20k tooltip you are at basically the peak of what this build is capable of pushing out without investing in essentially flawless rares which would go for multiple exalts a piece.

I personally have abandoned this character after investing about 4-5 ex into the gear, not willing to go further, I went back to my crit dual strike shadow.

How is the gear so far? And what other items should I go for? I'll be keeping an eye out for them until I get to Level 80 on my current char.

I've been playing POE for about 2 weeks and so far I've been having a hard time understanding why you would pick one class over another given that it seems like you can basically get to all of the same spots in the skill tree for each starting location and skill gems could be used by anyone. It might result in a different play experience while leveling but you kind of end up in the same place in the end.

After reading through this I can clearly see that atleast the ascendancy options available can make a pretty big difference in how a skill can be used. However, this leads me to a new question - if using hierophant you can get up to 4 flame totems why would you settle for just 2 in other builds like the marauder one linked?

Anything from 17 to 22k is normal for this build.

Because different ascendancies have different approaches. The chieftain for example only allows for two totems, these however do not suffer from the "less damage" penalty per totem. There is also no manareg on the chieftain tree which makes bloodmagic and the unique clear mind jewel a solid choice. The hierophant however has quite some mana regen here and there which is why I decided against blood magic because I dislike having dead stats on my builds.


Sorry for not pushing this nor answering to questions, I will come back to those as soon as possible. As I said earlier, I was pretty busy with university and this was obviously a high priority for me. With that being said, I have my final exam next thursday and can play literally 24/7 after that. I will then update the first post with screenshots and videos. Once my character hits 90 (which will happen next weekend) I will also attempt uber atziri on hc. This footage, even if I fail and die, will also get posted here.

Again, I am sorry for my lack of activity but that's how it is. Maybe I should have waited with posting this in the first place, who knows. Anyway, thanks for understanding.

I've been out of the game for some time and just returning - At the risk of sounding like a complete noob .. How are you getting 4 totems? I'm not finding any other passives, outside of Ancestral Bond, that give additional totems, nor am I seeing any gear that adds more.

You'll find it in the "Hierophant" ascendancy class, the "Ritual of awakening" node.

About the recommended weapons,
• Doryani's Catalyst, Vaal Sceptre
• Doon Cuebiyari, Vaal Sceptre
• Singularity, Platinum Sceptre

I have no idea which one should be bought. Out of these three items, is the first one the best? Does their listed order have any meaning?

EDIT: I have bought the Doryani's Catalyst, Vaal Sceptre, so far so good.
