I read a bit of the OP, it's very long and some sequences with videos ( or gif maybe, idk ) kinda did make my browser crash once, so I skipped part of it.
It would probably be easier to read if you would split the different parts into spoilers I think. There has obviously been a loot of work there, with I think many good elements, but : - Lvl100 is the very end goal for almost everybody, not the start. PoE is not a mmo that really starts when you reached the max level like some other games, hencefort having skills / abilities from lvl 100 seems very very inconsistent with the game. Very few people reach level 100 when you compare it to the player base, it should not be anything like a requirement for anything significant, like ever. ( GGG just reduced high level maps' experience gains if I'm not mistaking ). - Many things would be way, way, way too powerful. Like just the fact that you could add bleeding on hit on any weapon from lvl 45, would be completely overpowered. Adding a random status ailment would be the same, and how would you caculate the duration of the status ? from the total damage ? ( that would be completely OP ) Some ideas seem really nice, the graphics are also impressive, but .... I'm going to be honest : it seems completely inconsistent with the game. The socket shape idea is interesting, but would be also inconsistent, because gems have no been designed like this in the first place. They have their second effect, balanced to go with the primary effect. For some gems it could work, but for most, it would need a complete gems rebalance I think, and then the game's global balance would become even harder than it is right now, making it even more difficult to maintain. So I can feel the hype, I don't want to ruin it, but it feels honestly way to inconsistent to be something you could expect in the game, given its curent state. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

These ideas are definitely insanely good, I'd love to seem them implemented in the actual game.
However, it's unlikely GGG will accept any of those as this would require an enormous amount of effort, which is sad. | |
