Mechanical Questions Thread
How is (vaal) righteous fire interact with spell damage modifiers?
Spell damage modifiers (increased from tree, pain attunment, rf's more spell damage, vaal rf's more spell damage, herald of ash) all applied to vaal rf and do not apllied to rf. Is this correct? |

" Neither RF nor Vaal RF are affected by Spell Damage. They both deal Damage over Time, which is not Spell Damage, and is only affected by Spell Damage modifiers if the skill explicitly says so (compare: Scorching Ray). Note that the wiki on Vaal RF is outdated and refers to the pre-3.3 version of the skill which worked differently. (And pre-3.1 Vaal Pact.) I have a question about 'Decree of Fury on hit'.
Does this mod take my physical damage and convert it to fire damage and therefore lowers my overall physical damage dealt and transfers the 'lowered' physical damage into added fire damage? OR Does this mod take my physical damage and convert it to fire damage and then ADDS this fire damage to my existing physical damage, thereby retaining my physical damage and simply adding fire damage? Cheers. There's devils on each side of you with bottles in their hands.
You need one more drop of poison and you'll dream of foreign lands. |

" It converts specifically damage done by Decree of Fury. It does not affect the damage of other skills. And it is the former: if the skill would deal 100 physical damage, you will instead deal 50 physical and 50 fire damage. For detailed conversion mechanics, see Damage Conversion. " So will my dps go up when decree of fury is triggered or will it stay the same (but with fire damage?) The mod is on a set of gloves. I don't want my physical damage to be lowered whatsoever. The way I understand it is, if my overall physical damage is 100, it will now be 50 (+50 fire damage). Am I understanding this correctly? I am using lightning tendrils to trigger EE, to benefit my totem scorching ray damage.
However, my sceptre have a prefix that adds fire damage to spells. In the lightning tendrils tooltip doesn't show any addition as fire damage, but I know this tool is not trustful. So, is my sceptre mess up my setup? |

" Please go to your profile settings and make your characters visible so we can see all your equipment and skills. Posting a screenshot of your character screen (showing stats of Lightning Tendrils) also helps. Normally added fire damage to spells would indeed add to Lightning Tendrils, and that would cause Elemental Equilibrium to increase the target's fire resistance. However this change should be properly reflected in the skill tooltip. There are several different things that might be going on here, but without seeing your characters it is impossible to know what is actually happening. |

" Done. Sorry to not provide this information beforehand, I humbled thought that it would be a simple yes or no question.

hey GGG.
Does Dyadian Dawn`s: "Enemies Ignited by an Attack Burn 35% faster" work with the explosion of Explosive Arrow? I understand why effects with "Attack Skills" work since EA is an Attack Skill as a whole and only the explosion is a secondary effect. But the text only says "Attack" and people report it working for them. thx for the answer |
