Mechanical Questions Thread
I think you'll still freeze enemies, and also chill, shock and ignite them.
More precisely : your freeze will be calculated based on your cold damage alone, and your shock, chill and ignite based on the total damage, not only cold. Last edited by Hyrtacus#0121 on Jan 22, 2018, 2:53:10 PM

Is fork projectile from Rigwald's Quills deal less damage like fork support gem?
|
|
" Nope! Fork refers to the mechanic, not the support gem. If it was the other way around it would say "Socketed gems are supported by level X Fork" or similar. |
|
" Different ailments are independent of each other. If you have a chance to freeze from somewhere, and, for example, Shocking Conflux active, your hits can both freeze and shock. The freeze duration would be calculated based on cold damage only, while the shock effectiveness would be based on the total damage dealt of all types. " Er, I thought the cold Conflux was Chill, not Freeze. Has that changed ? |
|
" Uh, yes, it is chill. My mistake, sorry. I have fixed the previous post. Last edited by Abdiel_Kavash#5296 on Jan 23, 2018, 3:59:59 AM

So I have a probably simple question. How exactly does Molten Strike interact with Melee Splash Support? I was somewhat surprised to learn that not only does Molten Strike work with Ancestral Call Support, but that the additional attacks to nearby enemies also create their own projectiles for the 2nd part of the skill (the AoE projectile attack). Moreover, addition projectiles scales multiplicatively with this interaction, so running LMP with AC on MS leads to up to 15 projectiles per attack (3*(3+2); if there are enough nearby enemies to get the maximum of 3 attacks, at 3 different targets, at once). So this makes me wonder if the triggering of projectiles is 'per hit' or 'per attack'. If it's the latter, then I can see why it would work the way it does with Molten Strike and would expect Melee Splash to just give the melee attack AoE damage. But if it's 'per hit', then I could see Melee Splash resulting in a LOT of projectiles (seems OP/broken, so I doubt it works this way, but I am not sure).

" This seems like the kind of question you could probably test in game instead of asking :p Melee Splash and Ancestral Call do not use the same mechanics. Note that Splash says "deal splash damage to surrounding targets" while Call says "also target 2 nearby enemies." The projectiles are a result of the attack being executed, and Ancestral Call causes 2 more attack executions whole Splash causes 0 more. Need game info? Hi, I'd like to know more about gems experience. Recently I've updated 3 of my support gems to the 20% quality via vendor recipe. I've made it in one trade and put all of them back into the sockets right after the trade. I expected that all gems will be gaining the same amount of experience, thus the level would be the same at any given point of time. However, currently I have one of them at lvl 12(1.8M/3.5M), one at 15(0.5M/7.8M) and one at 16(0.3M/13.4M). Am I missing something in this mechanich or is it a bug?
upd: Ok disregard this. I've checked gem exp tables and it appears that different gems have _way_ different tables. Total exp for all gems however seems to be the same. Last edited by Ceilss#2817 on Jan 24, 2018, 5:19:34 AM

I'm thinking of making a spectre build with the new jewel and Unearth, but I can't find any information on some of the mechanics I plan to use.
1. What are the stats of the bone archers spawned by Unearth? I'm particularly interested in finding out their crit chance and multi, life, and base damage at level 95. 2. Does Vile Toxins affect minions? I did this last league and I'm 99% sure it affects their poison damage, but I'm unsure whether or not it increases their hit damage. 3. Can Perfect Agony affect minions using Coralito's Signature with Umbilicus Immortalis? I've done a bit of testing, and I think it may, but it's hard to tell and Path of Building shows no increase in damage (it wouldn't surprise me if PoB was wrong about this, though). |
