Mechanical Questions Thread

1. Bloodlust pretty clearly states "Cannot apply Bleeding" :P "Cannot" overrides everything.
2. See 1.
3. Only on subsequent hits: you need to deal Damage (and thus check Damage bonuses) before you can apply Bleed.
4. Sunder is garbage for single-target, you only get the line for Damage. Conc can help if the boss starts with, or often summons, adds that are very close to it. That's... about it. If there's no adds, Radius/Conc doesn't do shit.
5. Vuln, because Punishment only works if the enemy hits you with a Melee Attack.

Burn - depends on the source of the Burn; Skill Duration increases the duration of Fire Trap's Burning Ground for example, thus effectively increasing the length of the Burn.

Ignite - no. Ignite is an elemental status ailment, which has its own set of Duration modifiers.

Hello

I have a question about the interaction with soul eater and vaal gems.
I started to play cyclone raider a few days ago and i started to love vaal cyclone alot(its amazing against breaches)..so i thought about making it more fun with some mechanics ingame like soul eater and rampage ...but ive noticed that your vaal skills cant gain souls while you have soul eater buff on
..is that intended or is it a bug?...i saw that 1 guy wrote that ..if you eat the soul then your vaal gem cant have it cuz 1 thing can only have 1 soul ..but it makes no sense...since Sacrificial Harvest exists(chance to gain additional soul on killing a frozen enemy)...so i thought maybe it could be fixed.
It just feels sortof bad and not fun when you are vaal cyclone-ing and you have soul eater on(which is awesome) but you wont get any souls to charge up your vaal cyclone again.
That's working as intended. You only get one Soul, and Soul Eater does as the name implies. I don't see how the possbility of gaining multiple Souls has any relevance; if you were to get multiple Souls, Soul Eater still eats them all.
can poison crit? for example 88% crit chance i have 100% chance to poison will the poison be applyed as a crit so will the poison scale with my crit multiplier?

Poison cannot Critically Strike, as it does not hit.

Poison applied by a Critical Strike will benefit from your Critical Strike Multiplier (indirectly, once) because Poison damage is derived from your Hit damage.

This is, of course, assuming you have some Physical and/or Chaos Damage in your Hits.

Suppose you have no stats or bonuses except Poison, Critical Strike Multiplier of 200%, and Critical strike chance of 50%.

Suppose your base damage is 100 Physical Damage in a Hit.

If you don't crit, you deal 100 Physical damage and Poison deals 0.08 of that per second, or 8 Chaos Damage per Second.

If you do crit, you deal 200 Physical damage and Poison deals 0.08 of that per second, or 16 Chaos Damage per Second.

finally got some confirmation that ConEffect doesnt do shit for sunder single-target, as i felt. It bumps tooltip damage so much tho, and so deceitfully then. hm (
but for the looks of it ConcEffect is kinda better for some of dense packs, clearing them faster, when monsters closer to each other and they are many of them. Breach packs mostly i mean

now i wonder with what blue support i should swap IncAoe for bosses? chaos dmg? item rarity hehe? idk

and actually single-target Sunder not that garbage i should add, not premium one-shot pizza of course, but with all those bleeding buffs from Gladiator, and heavy investments in attack speed, their HP eaten very satisfyingly

another Pyre question, since I haven't found the answer in the pages I found via google.
Pyre destroys corpses on kill (Ignited enemies you hit are destroyed on Kill).
Profane Bloom explodes enemies on kill (% chance).
Am I right assumming that no corpses from Pyre = no explosions from Profane Bloom?

I assume that the bodies of the mobs that aren't ignited should explode with chaos damage.
Which mod applies first?
