And a bunch of ES

Good luck matching that with BSC

Int gives 2% base damage per 10 intelligence from Icestorm and 1% increased damage per 10 intelligence from the WI staff.

Meanwhile, a perfectly rolled DS gives 80% increased elemental damage (assuming 3 curses active on target) and a ton of ES.

DS is easily much better than BSC except for hexproof maps/mobs.

Most of your advice in other posts is really helpful, so you're obviously not a clueless idiot - but re-read my claim (2nd post corrects something I originally missed) - it's not wrong in the least.

Moreover, you're absolutely wrong about stationary.

Duration means more damage against anything that is in your spell - for the duration - whether stationary or moving.

For example - breaches - mobs move all over the place. If they move into an expired duration Icestorm - no damage - but with longer duration, they might have moved into a storm.

Another consideration - precasting - you can precast on a bunch of difficult bosses - precast a shit ton of damage due to increased duration - Uber Izaro/Uber Atziri/Shaper/etc - and you're way ahead of the battle.

And then there's pre-cast/maintain casting against summoned mobs - Chimera/Shaper/Uber Atziri - probably a bunch of others... increased duration is benefitial here as well... if nothing more than a bit of added safety and faster clears...

Finally - do you actually have any sense of time? - hell, every damn boss you've discounted as non-stationary (we agree though that Phoenix is non-stationary for the most part) actually is stationary for more than 5 or 6 seconds at a time or moves within that timeframe but is still within range of your Icestrom casts (Elemental Focus). Get a stopwatch out and review your own videos.

And then I guess I've been a bit too lax in my promoting my original post - you can take the jewel slot nearby the 2nd duration cluster for resists along the way and for dex-to-int coversion with a jewel slot - drop the 3 nodes leading and including Diamond Skin and path through Sentinel and great resist nodes to the jewel slot to convert dexterity to int; but maybe even dex-to-int isn't as good as some other jewel in this slot. Whatever. The point being that you can pick up great resists and a jewel slot by pathing to the 2nd duration cluster.

So yeah... that 2nd duration cluster is fucking amazing against a shit ton of otherwise difficult bosses and offers advantages against breach mobs as well.

Bottom line - I'm pretty sure that pathing towards the 2nd duration cluster as outlined above is more than worthwhile. It's probably optimal.

But I'm wiling to listen to considered opinions otherwise.

I'm not willing to listen to the superficial brush-offs I've received so far in this thread.

If we are using Deodres scorn, according to the color calculator it is a TON easier to off color it because of the int requirement.

Is the +2 to blasphemy and warlords make THAT big of deal, or save the chromatics and use that piece to offcolor instead of boots or gloves?

I'm new and was just looking for confirmation on the updates to the guide for 2.6. So I have 2 basic questions.

Avatar of Fire is a new addition to the build, correct? I'm only 4 skill points away from this and I want to be sure before I pick it up.

I know Pyre was nerfed from 100% down to 40% conversion but is it still good to use this ring while leveling and until I can afford the Doedre's curse ring and perandus ring, even though I would also be using Cold to Fire Support gem along side it?

Yes avatar of fire is a new edition to this build for 2.6. Not sure on using it while leveing, i used the op's leveling guide and it worked wonderful, but since you have a pyre can't see why not to use it while leveling.

Try to find two-toned strength-int boots for Cwdt-IM-golem summoning; such boots are pretty hard to find though.

So yeah... make due with the gear you can find/afford. It may well be better to at least temporarily off-color DS while waiting for two-toned boots or saving enough chromatics to off-color some sorcerer boots.

There's really no problem here... you get 50% cold-to-fire coversion from the cold-to-fire gem, and the rest from avatar of fire - the expense for this is one gem (basically free).

Meanwhile - the nerfed Pyre - for this build - is not very valuable. Save up for Perandus and Damning - use some resist rings as fillers meanwhile.
