[Suggestion] Completing Trials in any Difficulty unlocks the Lab in all Difficulties (illustrated)
The Trials of Ascendancy are supposed to act as a 'Demo' for how to deal with the traps in the Labyrinth, and players should not have to go through completing this Demo 3 times per character.
There are only 3 absolute solutions to the problem with the excessive state of Trials: 1. Make it so the Labyrinth is unlocked for all characters in all Leagues after just 1 character completes all 6 Trials once in all 3 Difficulties (too good to be true and unlikely, unfortunately) 2. Allow players to warp from the Trial Plaque in The Sarn Encampment directly to any Trial location when players click on any of the unfinished Trials, whereupon a Yes / No prompt appears with a message asking the player, "Go to Act 1, The Lower Prison?" If/when a player chooses 'Yes', the door behind players upon warping to the very beginning of any Trial will be locked to prevent players from gaining instant access to the areas where the Trials are, whereupon a Portal at the end of each Trial brings players back to Act 3, The Sarn Encampment. However, if/when a player tries to open the locked door at the beginning of any Trial, a message (or voice) will say, "You may not proceed beyond this door. You must finish the Trial." Furthermore, if players die during any Trial, they are still given the options to spawn at the very beginning of each Trial (the checkpoint) or back to town. Note: The [revised] idea above was brought up by StDrakeX on page 2, the 6th post down. or... 3. The idea below. Furthermore, in the event players complete all 6 Trials in Normal and not Cruel and Merciless, IF they feel they need to practice the harder Trials they did not complete in the other two difficulties, they can do that. Most players will probably not do that, but at least the option will still be there! Please support, and thank you. HeavyMetalGear When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect. I support this 100000%.
Well make it optional to do trials AFTER normal. This way new players can still feel it out. The way I see it after doing the trials once, there is nothing new to learn. Its still a lava trap. Only new thing is I need to open doors with levers now while the lava is inactive. Zzzz. After playing the game this long you begin to figure things out on your own. Don't force experienced players to do this chore. |

NIce elegant solution.

Love it, yes please!

Account-wide would be ideal.
I wouldn't be against Merc lab always granting all 6 ascendancy points - something that will be pretty much necessary anyway once difficulty's start disappearing. IGN: Victory_Or_Sovngarde It's not a 13 week development cycle, it's a 13 week supporter-pack cycle. You can play any build you want, as long as it's the current meta. The elegant solution would be if you could enter the labyrinth at any time you desire, but each trial plague not activated increases damage in the lab by 10%. So if you have 3 trials that you did not do, all damage (monsters, traps, Izaro himself) would be 30% higher.

" The 2 main reasons why GGG will not do away with the Trials of Ascendancy entirely is because: 1. The developers already spent a lot of time implementing the Trial layouts in each map in each difficulty and... 2. At least 1 time doing the Trials of Ascendancy per character (rather than 3 times per character) will still serve as a demo for any new players coming to PoE. Therefore, the idea I proposed is the next best thing, other than GGG making it possible for the Labyrinth to be unlocked for all characters in all Leagues after just 1 character completes all six Trials once in each Difficulty (too good to be true). When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. " That which will then 'require' players, new and old, to have to do all the Trials of Ascendancy in each difficulty just to lower their chance of dying... Yea, I don't see the elegance in your idea there. When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. " Be strong enough and you can do it without problems. And an account-wide unlock will not happen. The reason is simple: New leagues and racing in them. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

" I was not speaking for myself when I said, "That [your idea] which will then 'require' players, new and old, to have to do all the Trials of Ascendancy in each difficulty just to lower their chance of dying." Just because me or you would be strong enough to conquer the Labyrinth with everything dealing 10-60% increased damage doesn't mean everyone is going to be okay with that, anyway, whether they are capable or not. Furthermore, an 'account-wide' unlock for the Labyrinth can happen after 1 character completes all 6 Trials in all 3 difficulties if GGG coded the game that way to make sure it stays that way for every player account. At that point, it does not matter how many new leagues get released. In addition to that, as far 'racing' in any new league goes, it makes no sense to add the Labyrinth to the group of areas to be FIRST in the game (whereupon a global announcement says so) because the Labyrinth is an optional place to be and/or an optional place to conquer for Ascendancy Points. Therefore, players racing in any of the new leagues going forward should be measured by how long it took them to get to the very last Act, or how long it took them to level, just as it's always been. Besides, there is already a Leaderboard, anyway, for those who complete the Labyrinth quickest. When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect.
