Ugh, having such a streak of bad luck

I'm having the same bad luck. My best run today was doing a tier 7 and getting a 5 and 6. This is the first league where I actually do a lot of mapping, and it's really depressing. These low tiers are super easy now and xp gain is so slow! I guess I need to just buy maps from other people, but if that's what the end game is, then I'm not interested. I don't like the labyrinth, so I don't know what to do. /bored
Kill Atziri if you can. But yes, end-game is a problem in PoE, more so after Ascendancy.

I don`t understand why some people think that buying maps is a bad thing. Three weeks ago i bought 16 T7-T8 maps for 2chisels each ( they may be cheaper now ) and since then i went up to T9-T10 and was able to sustain my map pool and also had a small share of T11-T12. I think those 32chisels were the best investment i made in PoE...the next best thing was buying a Goldrim at the start of the league. :)

If you think that`s bad luck, wait until you`ll get your hands on a T11-T12 map and you`ll get the "game server lost contact with the realm " error.

Terrace boss is pretty easy now if you have somewhat decent DPS, Torture Chamber is all about mechanics (and one of the most well-designed bosses in the game). Worth trying :).

You're right, I got Torture Chamber from Zana daily today and the boss was much easier than I expected from the wiki description. For a veteran MMORPG player those mechanics were nothing. (Still failed the actual mission because apparently the last lodestone was in the boss room where I didn't think to look. Bah.)

I play self-found. Dunno about other players' reasons.
Buying content is just a shitty concept, that is my personal reason. Anyways, once your character gets strong enough, T10s cannot be called "endgame" any more either.

As for the lodestones, are you sure you explore the maps properly? There are usually at least 12 lodestones, often more, and if you are not able to find 10 of them, that is alarming. Do you clear your maps down to less than 20 mobs remaining?

The highlight of my mapping over the past couple of days was when a tier 5 map dropped two tier 5 maps. Mostly all map drops are below the tier of the map they dropped in. Run a tier 8 map? Highest drop is tier 7. Tier 6 map? A single tier 4 map drops. I can't keep up a tier 6 pool, and even tier 5 looks doubtful. So annoying. At this rate I'll end up having to buy maps from Zana to get anything reasonable to run.

I thank you very much, it seems like i have taken your luck. I have found more 10 and 11 then I can run atm and my first 3 red maps!

And while I enjoy it I still think its wrong and as I wrote in another thread: Content and RNG don't go together. Because as long as there is any RNG on content there will be a few unlucky guys who get Fed in the A. And that's just wrong.

But we just recently discovered the true cause of this unlikely event:
By the time GGG manage to balance their game.
Yeah, but since Zana does gives you a mission (free map) every day, and since you can buy maps off her, even with horrible luck you should still be able to run something half descent.
I have been buying the T6 and 7 maps from Zana. Then by the end of the evening I still don't have any T8's or higher. Pointless.

I'm reminded of Warframe's T1 to T4 end game. If you want access to any of those tiers of keys, there are missions where you are guaranteed to eventually get one random key. The missions to earn T4 keys are difficult, but at least they aren't gated behind RNG and you will definitely earn a random T4 key.

It would be nice if PoE had a series of forsaken master type missions which will reward you a random map of a given tier. Gate the maps behind difficult missions instead of low drop rates.
Its all about rolling your maps. I chisel & alch all of them. Also i am using chaos if the quantity is too low. I am always trying to gain 100%+ quantity and packsize. That way i am able to sell my t10 maps for chisels while still having some left in case i cant sustain my t11 maps.
I am also rolling all strongboxes. Its pretty much worth it if your map has high quantity.
I've never bought any zana maps. They are kinda expensive.

Oh, forgot to mention it was a 5-minute timed mission. I found the ninth lodestone around the four-minute mark, then spent the last minute frantically looking for the tenth. Torture Chamber's layout is not very conductive to doing speedruns. Usually there's been some extra lodestones, so dunno what was up this one.

I almost always try to clear my maps to 0 /remaining, although I may skip the last few (less than 10) monsters if there's no unexplored corners. The only exceptions are IRL reasons and if the map is just impossible (canyon with beyond and hordes of sea witch spawns, yo - my build isn't equipped for fighting beyond bosses in a closet).
