[2.3 - PSC]Gladiator Cleave(Lacerate) Block/Dodge build - Budget/Atziri/Tier 14/15 maps down
Hey,
I really enjoyed playing your build, but now I have reached endgame. And I have the following problems. I can't to high tier maps, because I have not so much life and not so mich dmg. Would be great if you could take a deeper look for my gear. Which items should I upgrade and with which stats? Or do you have any other advice how I can beat high tier maps and merciless lab. I only have 3.5k life at lvl 81. Greetings Gambler92 |

" OK, so I checked your gear and to be honest I think that it's fairly good. Now if you want you can try and find a better neck. By better I mean one that gives even more Physical Damage(12-26 one, instead of your which is 9-17). That will give quite a bit of increase in the damage. Generally you can upgrade your rings with rings that give more Phyisical Damage, but I assume you are using them to get what you are missing(intellect/resistences), so for now you can leave them. Belt - you can find a belt that gives more life + strength(35-40+) for more life. Would be nice if you can find gloves with Physical Damage + Attack Speed, but you gloves are ok and you can stay with them for now. The weapon.... Change your weapon. Find a Wings of Enthrophy weapon with 118-120%increased physical damage roll. As for fire/chaos.. the chaos doesn't matter, but try to aim for high fire damage like on your current weapon - 116-120. If you get a weapon with the above mentioned stats your damage should increase quite a bit. If you want to get really nice boost in damage you should get Finess + Acuity(you need to spend 5 points to get these, but the damage boost will be a lot) Now the key to surviving in your case would be in changing the flasks. First I would replace the Quicksilver Flasks. You can either use your Leap for movement or you can get a Quartz Flask and roll Increased Movement + Increased Duration and keep that on constantly to run faster. It will be slightly slower than Quicksilver flasks, but it also gives 10% dodge. Second I would get 2 life flasks. Divine or Eternal will do just fine. I personally use 1 Divine Life Flask with 25% reduced life recovered, instant recovery when on low life, Immunity to Bleeding, Removes Bleeding and 1 Eternal Life Flask with 66% reduced amount recovery(would be nice if you can get higher roll like %50 for example), instant recovery + whatever extra effect you can get. In your case increased armor might not be a bad roll. A cheap Rumi's Concoction is a must. Get it as soon as you can afford it. Atziri's Promise can give you more damage and life leech = survivability. I see that you are using mana flask. The way to "remove" that flask is for you to spend 1 point on "Life and Mana leech" skill node, or you can put mana leech on your gloves from the crafting benches. You can remove your current gloves bench enchant by going to the same bench and using 1 scouring orb to remove it. Then put mana leech and you shouldn't need anymore mana flasks. To get an idea about the flask I explained above just go back to my first post on this thread and look at "My Current Gear" section and check the flasks. The way to survive against tough packs is actually fairly simple. You jump in the middle of packs(or near the edge if it's a really threatening pack) and kill them. You should constantly have poped Rumi's Concotions(if you have it, if not use Granite Flask) + a quartz flask up and whenever you see that you are taking damage use the life flask that instantly heals you. If you are on low hp when you use the other Life flask that heals you instantly when on low hp it will almost instantly hill you to full hp and basically that's how you stay alive in the face of really tough packs/mobs, but generally if you have Rumi's Concotions + Quartz flask up, you tend not to get hit at all :P Hopefully this have been somewhat helpful. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Sadly I've been extremely busy nowadays(the whole season to be honest) and so I might take a bit of time to answer since I don't have the time to check the thread constantly, but I'll try to answer within 1 day tops. P.S. Btw I can't see your Jewels, but I would suggest that you try to use jewels that give Physical Damage with Axes, Physical Damage while Dual Wielding and some type of resistances. The more the better. If it can give you 2 or even 3 type of resistances it would be the best. That way you won't need as much resistance on your gear and it's easier to get gear that increased your damage. You can also look for jewels that give phyiscal damage with 2 handed weapon, since Wings of Enthropy is a 2handed weapon they will work. Basically aim for 2 stats that increase your physical damage(axes, 2handed weapons, dual wield) + resistances(at least 2 if possible 3). Last edited by Xingbairong#7790 on Aug 15, 2016, 7:25:26 PM

Thank you ver much Xingbairong.
That was a really detailed answer. I will try to execute your suggestions and I will give you a feedback when I have changed the necessary things. I really like this build. And maybe I can also try Atziri with this build. Kind regards Gambler92 |

" Normal Atziri is a piece of cake with this build. If you aren't confident in avoiding her sure kill skills(Storm Call) just use a Topaz Flask for the extra lightning resistance. Flame Blast is fairly easy to avoid, so there really isn't any need to use Ruby Flask, but you can if you want. Btw for a HUGE boost in the damage+faster clear speed it might not be a bad idea to try and get a 6l white armour, so that you can use conc effect/increased area of effect gems. |

I gotta ask... why dodge?
with 22% block and 40% dodge, you have 53.2% avoidance if you ditch the 4 dodge talents, you'll have 52% block (52% avoidance), which you can invest into the scion's block, which will result in 56% block (56% avoidance). with flasks, instead of 51% block and 50% dodge, which result in 75.5% avoidance, you'll have 75% block and 10% dodge, which result in 77.5% avoidance. with the flask up we will have less spell block (since we will be capped at 77.5% instead of 83.6%), but will have 4 points to spend elsewhere, as well as the armor and ES we lost. if we have flask up all the time (only case we might consider dodge), we could cut back the whole ranger side of the tree, and go toward the more aggresive marauder for bonus damage, while taking the block in scion to cap us at 75%. (we won't need the ranger points to hit the cap that way). |

" Truth be told I just wanted to make a more diverse build. Btw the block isn't 22%, but 31% for melee(39% for spells) Also you can do as suggested and go the Marauder side, but I personally like all the speed that you get from the ranger side. It help with both clearing faster maps and sustainability. The faster you attack the faster you heal. I haven't tried what you have suggested, so it might be better. All I wanted with this build was simply to be able to clear high end maps with budget(1c, except for chest)gear. |

I just started this build in the essence league and it's going well so far, but I'm a bit confused. Do I use lacerate or cleave? Or are they interchangeable? Which is better?

I'm only in normal act 4 but I've been getting absolutely rekt by almost everything my damage is at around 1.5k dps (cleave)
Can you tell me if I'm doing something wrong? |
