I know Steam Greenlight has made adding "simulator" to the end of anything into memes, but for those of us who believe words should mean things, simulation refers to modeling a process in a way which gives the feel of performing that process, without actually performing the process.

Rather ironically, there is trading simulation in Path of Exile... however, it tends to be played a little harder by the more self-found players than it is by the traders, who actually exchange goods and/or services with other players.

NPC vendors in Path of Exile are the actual trade simulators in the game.

Cadiro, he's a trade simulator too. Fact: Currently, perm leaguers spend statistically less time playing trade simulator than temp leaguers. Fact: playing trade simulator in temp leagues can act as a "gateway activity" to "hard" forms of trade activity.

But I digress. The point is that you don't mean the word at all. The behavior you're referring to is the real deal, not a simulation. So pretty please, with a cherry on top, stop fucking say it.

Amusingly enough, it seems like everyday language on the internet is being handily transformed by Twitch and streamers to the point that memes and jokes are repeated ad nauseam by the masses. I wonder if they even really understand what they're saying anymore.

They don't have to. But a healthy economy is one where the majority of people interact with it intimately.
