" Fabricated for the reasons mentioned, like a worst case scenario you can have against a xirgil build by the mechanics, not the existance of such build. The scaling is also very different, it is missing a whole layer of multiplier by not be able to get % phys gained as elemental, and it's harder to stack crit. 2.-btw what do you think of go full armour in gear + iron reflexes + legacy aegis maybe incandescent heart chest armour and CI too with scorching ray+ glacial cascade + cwc ? a good idea? |

" First of all aegis is not in a good spot with all the scorching gays running around everywhere, and even blockable builds like KB can oneshot it sometimes, some opponents are just not meant to be tanked. Yea my old aegis build is similar to gubben's but he went marauder for the ignite immunity to be more viable in GM map, if you usually play in sarn only, you should rather go Juggernaut, Guardian, Champion, Gladiator, or Occultist. Gearwise never go pure armour items, as a tank you really need high EHP. Imo Xirgil with Blightwell on Occultist is better than Aegis, you don't need to stack armour, so when blocking is impossible you can swap to 1H + ES Shield, warp around and still take advantage of really fast recharge. If you actually want to kill people on your own stack more damage, my build version can only kill people who try to attack it really hard with not enough bcr. IGN: Márkusz

For a build like mine, but without needing/wanting the ignite immunity, Guardian is pretty much superior to all other choices. It gets comparable es and more armour than occultist, way higher es and almost the same armour as juggernaut, and I think the pathing is too bad for both gladiator and champion.
Here's a guardian version of my tree if you want to do it (lvl 100 tree) I agree with Markus tho, xirgil's looks like a much better tank build when flasks are an option (they aren't for gms). Even tho my build can get to like 90k armour(3.6k es on block) I think xirgils might be tankier. If someone wants to test it hit me up and I'll log on ^^ I guess it mostly depends on attack speed/hit frequency if aegis is tankier or not. ty guys, i was thinking go iron reflexes with lots of armour in gear(missing a lot of ES nodes) but after Márkusz post im thinking get a lot of ES nodes(ive seen that -65 block lapiz build lol)
and i will use a lot of armour and regen just in gear (i will not take iron reflexes now) , mull_gubben how you get 90k armour lol? im doing this build in legacy league i already bought a legacy aegis and some uniques im thinking use like an hybrid armour/ES chest armour. ive seen some builds in legacy sarn arena that could counter tanky/block builds , a fireball with lot of reduced block chance ( fyndel ) and those golem builds. Actually, with flasks, determination is better than grace that I normally use, so with determination you'd reach ~110k while using flasks. But you lose like 10k while not using flasks. For aegis the focus on gear should be es over armour/ev, since you get so much armour from flasks alone, and flasks have pretty much 100% uptime vs most builds due to avengers+reckless defence. For what it's worth, I've never died to a golem build with my build, but it is definitely weak to people who focus on block reduction/slow hits. I still die a lot, the block rng is not strong enough long term, but most things below the mentioned opponents are tankable. Secondary damage, Scorching etc are not dealt with, it's not meant for it, roll a dps build for that lol.
