and?

Run 200-500 times and dont get any useful enhancement you needed/wanted and then speak about 7-10-20 min.

UPD: Also to YOU it only 7 min, your build, your experience and style. So making that argument (about only 7 min) so false and wrong, special when its so unbalanced.

Awwe c'mon Tree...you've been around these forms a while...

There is always the "zzz lab is so ez. you are noobs" guy that posts some dumb shit like that. lol

Only thing hate about the lab is the helm enchantments are too damn random. There is very little chance that you will get the exact enchant you want. I stopped after I just got something kinda useful to my build but not really that great. It's unfortunate but due to the RNG of the helm enchant slot, it is pretty much impossible to get what you want.

I'm guessing it's their way of ensuring enchanted item trading.
The issue I have with the Enchantment is that there isn't really much motivation to do more enchants once you have a useful enchant. Because the chance is high you actually destroy that half useful enchant for a not so useful one. And except for some cheap uniques you won't always have 2 helmets to enchant. So when you enchant you should get the decision to keep the enchant or put the new one on top of it, it would make the enchantment process less punishing.
I would buy the argument about ensuring enchantment trading if the enchantments themselves we're so imbalanced. Gloves and boots are like 1 out of 15 and have abilities independent of specific builds and helms are like 1 out of 218 and target specific skillsets. It's more plausible to me that they just don't want to bother coding some type of smart enchantment system for the helm to bring the dice rolls down into something manageable.

The 7-10 min run argument mostly just applies to speed runs if you skip everything, which is totally valid. What's not totally valid is taking your time and exploring the labyrinth, getting every cache, because the loot is less quality than what is in maps and the iteration on failure is so long that it completely discourages that playstyle.

Leveraging the design goal of making an entire piece of content that has to be done in one iteration so you don't have to deal with exploiting like ALT+F4 is essentially saying "We are too lazy to actually design and code safeguards to the exploits in our game, so we are going to punish everyone for it with a long iteration on retrys due to failure".

Don't get me wrong. I love the Labyrinth. But having a secondary mode to it that is off the leaderboards and adds checkpoints after each Izaro stage is completed would go along way in allowing players to explore it and practice the Izaro fights with a reasonable retry iteration without compromising the integrity of the challenge for those who want to race.

I did the math at some point (Actually, some other guy did the math on the forums, but I am taking credit for it, because I would have done if I wasn't so lazy (Probably)).

If you are going for one specific helm enchantment which targets the main damage skill you built around, then it's a 1 out of 218. A 1000 runs is a 94% chance of success. It's like 1400ish to get it to 99%.

So if you do a 1400 runs, each at 7 minutes with no failures, then it's only 163 hours.

Totally balanced.
So, the posters here are in a smighty mood...

There is never going to be any way for GGG (or any game developer for that matter) to be able to please players across the spectrum from newbie to veteran, from casual to hardcore fanatics, and from softcore to hard-ass-core. That's impossible. So GGG has to take their best shot and see where the players stand on good/bad for each and every new league and added content. Some will love it, some will hate it, most will fall somewhere in between the extremes. So the OP thinks labs is trash... his opinion.

My opinion is that Labs is still a work in progress and GGG will be refining it now that they are getting feedback from us. It's a good start but has a long way to go to be something worth playing every day. The dungeons are nothing more than a maze run, the other temples are mostly ok, and the outdoor areas are pretty much the same as any other map. Throwing in a few obstacles (buzzsaws, poison darts, spikes, lava floors, etc.) is mostly an annoying gimmick and so is racing to find lever switches to open locked doors or a golden key to unlock the exit door. Next thing we'll see is a giant boulder rolling toward us to crush us for steeling an idol. GGG should have used more imagination for the Labyrinth maps.

The whole enchantment of helm, boots, or gloves is pretty much a big let down and as to be expected the RNG train is at full throttle here (to be expected). The Izaro boss battle is also pretty uninspiring too. I think GGG needs to go back and play TorchLight II again to see how the old guard of Blizzard North did boss battles much better than what's in PoE. Just adding trap obstacles to the 3rd battle is so annoying and not adding anything new and exciting.

Final thought... lame troll posts are so overdone by 2016 and really should stop. If you aren't going to say anything except "git gud dude" then please do us all a favor and refraim from posting at all. Thank you.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.
