GGG is not going to change the way you get ascendancy points. The lab really isn't that hard to do. If it's so boring, do it in 10 minutes and be done with it. It's the exact same thing as the skill point quests while leveling. A lot of them require you to go out of your way to get semi-mandatory skill points. No different than the lab.

Are the trials a bit boring to do in each difficulty? Sure, but if you do them while leveling and on-level, they're a bit more exciting and you don't have to go back and do them.

Just as long as you're aware that you're wasting your time suggesting they decouple ascendancy from the labyrinth.


They could always gate them behind Malachai instead, it could fit into the lore easily enough with some dialogue changes for Piety and Dialla.

I'm going to jump on a bus and deliver this idea to HQ in person.

this could actually work quite well... with Dialla giving you the "last of her power" to help you confront Malachai, a power of days past that she bestows on the character. She allows you to ascend giving you the two points (right after collecting the 3 organs or whatever).

It won't happen. That would mean wasting Normal and Cruel labyrinth.

Gate a passive point behind it, instead. Just remove one from Piety or make the Bust quest respec only.

People will feel obligated to take it from a min-max point of view. At least all the spikes in the game, and they are a lot.

Less obligated than Ascendancy points, hell its only 3 passives lost - thats not going to break a build like 6 Ascendancy would. Then the Labyrinth becomes about min/maxing your build instead of MAKING your build.

Why hasn't GGG responded? This is pure gold I am giving them, free of charge. I would like my name mentioned somewhere in game when they change the lore though.
