Hai there, i decided to try this build as a starter build in this patch and i just think its awesome, i always played as CoC btw!

So, i just finished uber lab on 2.4, it's was pretty hard run, considering my gear is just horrible. I'm using the new 2.4 gem setup, i tried the old gems but i feel like the dps is just higher with only bladefall on CoC.

If anyone want to follow i'm using this atm! (the passive three is basically the same)

Spoiler

TY for the build!

Hey i want to ask you about jewels? Since the ones with %max life are expensive for starter, what do you look for choosing jewels. Double / Triple damage modifiers or damage + crit multi? Do you feel squishy without max life jewels?
IGN: LadyAlistra
What was the reasoning for swapping out Glacial Cascade in the new patch?
if anyone is using this build in essence for high tier content could you post and say how you find it? if we're lucky maybe you could post a video?

i'm using %max life + crit multi in most of my jewels, they aren't the best, but i think you don't need to expend alot to get a blue jewel, i think i bought then for 2-4 chaos.

I feel like i need a little more attack speed, i plan to buy bow attack speed + max life + crit in the future, but they are way too expensive for me now.

Without the life jewels i would drop almost 500HP, so it helps alot not getting one shot at t10 maps i'm running atm.

edit: i updated the post with the jewels i got.

You need to look your crit chance with the power charges, for example, when in out of power charges my crit change is 25%, with 7 charges my crit chance is 75%.

The ancendancy will help you get the powers charges and run orb of storms + power charge on critical, it helps alot as well.

I've tried to use this build (not in end-game content) and so far it was a complete waste of time and a total disappointment. Worst possible build in my entire PoE experience so far, absolutely terrible. I never had such bad experience with PoE before. Character is EXTREMELY squishy during leveling, especially in a4 cruel, even blue packs are a problem. But it's not better later on, it's probably my first char that dies in cruel lab at lvl 70.

With all the life nodes, with 50-90 life on almost every piece of equipment i can have 4k hp, but very little armor, ev or es (because build isn't viable without 6L and all i can afford in the new league is tabula).
OP's mentioning about "extreme tankiness" must be a joke. Or trolling. It's a glass cannon build at it's worst, 100% pure "corpserun the build" for me. I've died countless times before i even got to merciless and it took me x2 amount of time from usual. Even bandit lords were a problem. Granted, this might be because i don't usually play Assassin builds and my pc lags/game client crashes.
First i though "well, it's unusually shitty and HARD, but build will shine later on". So, i clenched my teeth and kept levelling and dying. I thought it's because i don't have Lioneye's bow yet and ascendancy. Not much has changed after that. I kept waiting, but there was no improvement.

OP should have mentioned that this build should only be played by those who have perfect PC, no lags and are able to dodge 100% of the attacks from mobs/bosses with ease. Or that his build isn't viable without getting 4 ascendancy points first. And if you for some reason can't finish cruel lab (like me), but spend all your passives/orbs for gear - tough luck, you're stuck.

I wish i just levelled a dual-totem templar, a melee marauder/duelist or a ranger instead, actually ANY build would have been preferable to this catastrophe. Or that someone couls give me 2 days of my life and all my destroyed nerve cells back. Now i wasted all my orbs on useless gear and jewels, and don't even have enough points to respec, nor to buy new gear. I also wasted a shitload of time, usually i would farm high tier maps after a coupe of days, now i'm still struggling with T1 maps and cruel lab(!)
How do you people find this build enjoyable is beyond me.

What skills were you using while levelling?

I went with dual wands / dual scepters and ran Blade Fall - Spell Echo - Faster Casting - Controlled Destruction - Concentraded effect on a 5l armor. I practically ran that until level 66 where I'm starting to buy parts for the initial build. Still need Ascendancy skills, a few gems, and a few levels and will hopefully get better results.

I will say that the 'extreme tankiness' line is a bit false because it's using the dodge chances as a means of defense, if something hits you, it's gonna hit pretty hard.

I also don't like the Blasphemy + Warlord's mark combo as enemies need to be pretty close to you before the curse applies, which is where I do NOT want them to be.

Ice Golem dies pretty fast to enemies. Gonna start levelling that up again

Can't afford a Belly or good gloves yet, just using a facebreaker.

Well, in the beginning i was actually using bow skills like Tornado Shot and Rain of Arrows with Death's Grip and rare bows w/ good dps, because i have enjoyed these while levelling my ranger chars before. It was there that i got my ass handed to me, so i've switched to bladefall traps and then to bladefall self-cast and things became a little more easier. Still extremely squishy char though. Even had to take Mind over Matter to die less often.
I guess you need experience playing Shadow (maybe even on hardcore leagues) to master this build.

Just a question, why are we using the passive node Serpent Stance? Isnt that only effective when we are using a staff?
