Farewell, my friends!

When you enter a new instance in the labyrinth, there is this statue like in goetzjam picture that you can click on for the "current location".

so you can enter a new zone and click it to see if your progressing in the right direction.

It might be enough of a hold to not "feel lost" for you to go from these statue's while progressing the labyrinth.

Give it a try and see if it helps with your issue.

Peace,

-Boem-

Interesting how an entire optional feature is somehow giving you nightmares.

Anyways, I'm not too sure why a farewell thread is posted in the feedback section?

getting lost in a lab? are you serious? so i understand that you also do not play Prison, Dungeon, Cells, Necropolis etc etc as these maps are BOTH larger and have more unforgiving layout

i understand that there might be conditions that make you afraid of getting lost etc but.. at least be consistent as the lab IS IN NO WAY more likely to get you lost than any damn map you navigate trough 3 difficulties and then in the end game

btw - tell me how did you complete Solaris Temple as this map is utter nightmare compared to Lab and is larger than 3 lab levels combined

This brings me to another thing. I didn't realize just how hard those are to look at for any extended period.Until this new area, I've never needed to stare at it so often. lol
I agree with you on this one.

Edit: And allowing for the possibility of having a cheat map like that is a terrible solution to the problem, it defeats the entire purpose of the lab. They might as well just make you run the ledge 3 times at that point. They made so many mistakes this time. :/
Well the alternative is to make the labyrinth layout completely random which screws over anybody who is learning from their mistakes. When I fail I don't want to spend so much time figuring out how to get through the areas I've already gotten through.

I'll miss you if you choose to leave Grant.

However, there are a couple "guarunteed" path options for you!

First off, there is the "labarynth map" This is an interactable object by all the doors in the lab. as you enter a zone, it adds it to the map. This will help you navigate the zones.

Second. Finding the zones. The exits are always on the edge, so just pick a side and stick to it The first exit might not be the right one, but go through it and then check the Lab Map mentioned in tip 1.

Hope you get to stick around! I'll help you out if you need it to learn those tricks.

Perhaps, but wouldn't that be more true to the idea?

Say for example ascendancy points were somewhere else and the lab was entirely optional endgame content built the way you describe, it would feel like a large accomplishment each time you completed it.
k, thx, bye

Using color to make your post seem better or have more more weight? Or just a copy paste from another arrogant narcissistic fool? Neither of you aint gonna be valued posters and using a different colour only helps to make fool of yourselves

Lab is not "optional" since it gates more than just items, atziri and masters are optional where you only lose access to items if you choose not to do them hence the term optional, with labyrinth you lose further character customization

How is that feedback you ask? Mabye because he anylized what bothers him with the new content? The title might not fit in the feedback section but his whole post does.

@ Boem & Goetzjam - I was hoping that there were something other than those current location deals that I was missing! For me, those things don't seem to help me, as I can check them and find I have managed to loop around and end up at the same spot multiple times! lol

@ Claiohm - That's what I try, but there usually ends up a part of the puzzle where I feel I'm stuck in a loop.

Regardless, I really appreciate the tips.

@ Slayer - Perhaps I'll get back into Steam at some point. I'll definitely let you know if I do. Cheers.

@ Sid - Yes. Solaris (among other areas) I can become semi-lost. But there's a real difference in that there's only one way out, so even if I must explore the entire level to find it, I DO eventually get out. The maze is very different as there's multiple exits that can loop back into areas with multiple exits, etc...

@ Regulator - I'm not so sure about separating the two. It's important that GGG keeps their vision for the game intact. Maybe if there were a linear version of the maze as well as the current version? Twice as long and twice as dangerous, but with only ONE exit from each zone and no extra rewards? That seems like more of a fair compromise. That way in order to have a sure way through (no getting lost), you'd take longer to do it, but would be able to at least schedule IRL around it!

BUT... that's more dev time for a tiny % of players like me with directional memory issues and because of that, it's a lousy idea. lol

Anyway, This is just feedback from my personal experiences to the devs. And also a bye, for those who care.

I want to be clear that the issue is NOT the maze itself or the game. It's all to do with some brain trauma I've had. Basically, it sucks to be me. I'm not angry, just bummed that I can't really get into the new stuff and enjoy it.
