SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
" You lose a few points because your analogy didn't mention Hitler, I heard that's a must these days. (I agree with your points, of course.) |

" Off topic a bit, but did you know that photographs of Hitler are a breach of GGG's forum community guidelines? So I was told recently when I had a post containing such an image deleted. I did nazi that coming. An frankly it broke my concentration for a while. Since then I have worked führiously to keep my posts free of all national socialist references, including camp puns, so as not to run afoul again! Wash your hands, Exile!

" Good one there ! About your original point, I agree to some extent : Yes, of course, I think that GGG should ( and definitely is doing so ) take into account those technical matters, but to some extent only. I mean, if GGG would plan for the worse case scenario that would happen for example, the game would be full of hacks ( if GGG allows character to survive what looks like a game crash coming from the client ...... that's just an example of course ), it would be a terrible thing. Let's note that I am expecting some people to misunderstand what I just wrote and only see the extremes. I really do feel that we have reached a point where the lab is in an acceptable state ( from a technical point of view ), I am not saying that others do never have issues with it. Back at the start of Prophecy for example, it was aweful, it was terrible, but that wasn't just the lab back then. Now is losing a t15 very well rolled map ( you know, when the hideout instance crashes and the portal disapear ? ) not as bad as crashing in the lab ? I do not think so. About trading .... it's kind of mind blowing to me why it had not been done in advance, and .... why nothing has still been done yet :/ I have no idea how much resources they are allocating to the task, but ...... still no way to deal with it yet .... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Feb 27, 2017, 11:39:15 PM

" Agreed 100%. That is not a perfect metaphor, however, as that is only a rare subset of crash types. Most network farts only cause you to lose a single portal. And the Lab only gives you one to lose. This isn't a request for more portals, mind you, but rather a condemnation of the fundamental design which doesn't take into account PoE's flaws, as well as an exhortation to GGG that all future content do take them into account. (Though further Lab tweaks would be welcome as well, of course! As would continued tweaks to network robustness.) Wash your hands, Exile! Last edited by gibbousmoon#4656 on Feb 28, 2017, 12:18:06 AM

Well, I think that it does take some in consideration, and that GGG made the choice that the one portal -> on way through design was worth "risking" it, even considering how the game was.
If the game would have been as stable as now when the lab and prophecy launched, there would probably have been way less threads about it imho. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

No it would still take a solid ARPG and turn it into a chaotic random pay gold to win mess. Its still like playing a football game in the first half of a sports game then making them play an inning of baseball before finishing the football game.
Worse since the players could give the ref a 50 to skip the baseball half time inning. Poor bad design. Last edited by Zalhan2#1986 on Feb 28, 2017, 3:07:46 AM

Wake up, GGG! Fix your game..

" Oooohhh... THAT'S what they should do. How could we have missed that?? Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. |

"Let's make a ARPG all about trade, but at this part of the game you play a platformer and no trade."
