It was 60% LESS from 2.3 to 2.4.

And so its now another 60% LESS in 2.5.







So untill they do something about its pretty much DEAD.


If theyrs policy is to improve FPS/Server performance the next logical step would be removing:


"35% less Discharge dmg when triggered" penalty to compensate.

IKR Rico. This is pretty major.

In my conversations with the people following my own Mjolner builds we were pretty optimistic about 2.5, thought it wouldn't really change anything. And now we get this 60% damage nerf.

I played a very powerful Inquisitor version that I was excited to release in Essence. Now all that work for new content is pretty much going to go to waste.

It seems we had same plan. I was also beta-testing my new Inquisitor version that was going strong in 2.4. Now, just before I've finished fine-tuning it... eh.

I have been playing Mjölner since joining in 1.3 and seen its up and now its downs.
The nerf in 2.4 pretty much killed it already in my opinion. The damage compared to usual physical builds and spell builds was incredibly lacking no matter your investment. Also Cospri outclassed it in every possible way.

Though I have never played your build RT Mjölner Rico I followed this thread closely and the theorycrafted that was done here.
At this point I am sad, disappointed and surprised at this balance decision as Mjölner had no chance in becoming the next meta due to its utterly crappy stats and ridiculous stat requirements.

I was pretty pessimistic about the 2.4 nerf event but we Mjölners were able to make it viable but now with 2.5 I am very certain to say that Mjölner is dead.

I was playing around with a Mjolner build the last few weeks and was having fun playing it. Now this nerf happens and I feel like I've wasted my time.

Thankfully final fantasy xv just came out

After saving for a very long time, I finally got myself a Mjolner and gear to suit. And I'd have to say it became my build of choice, now I'm just really disappointed and have no idea what to play now.

I don't get a lot of time to play so I'm really lost. RIP Mjolner.

BTW, thanks Rico and others for keeping the dream alive for as long as you have.
All right as nothing has changed since official 2.5 patch notes realese I think this is it.

Unless some viable mechanics will be discovered regarding new yet uknown unique items that will open up Mjolner builds once again I wont be posting any new Mjolner guide as far as 2.5 goes.

I want to thank everyone who followed my builds. In my comments I might sounded rather harsh but Im very positive person in real live, I just like to get stright to the point. More than that english is not my native language, so some more 'subtle' ways of wording are simply beyond me.

I really appreciated any input to the builds made by you guys (and girls). Some of them where very informative and helped shape the builds in a proper way.

I know It might sound like a goodbye or smtg but I'm not quiting the game. I think I will play some blade flurry and wait to see what will happen with this game in the near future.

Untill now I can honestly say that I had much fun playing builds that I created, and despite that all of them where destroyed by GGG's "balancing policy" I hope you guys (and girls) had fun with them as well and that you will have as much or even more fun with other builds that will pop-up in these forums in the near future.

I guess it's the "lazy programming" curse which hit Mjölner this patch.

But...
I'm not a high end player. So take that into consideration. That being said, I've random rolled Tier 10, 11 and 12 maps now, then running them with Zana Beyond mod and it's been absolutely no problem (and quite fast). Boss killing is a bit slower, especially on maps with +crit multi/chance where I switch to enfeeble curse.

I also don't run the most effective build version.

Running Vitality, Enfeeble/Ele weakness, Arctic Armour and Chaos Golem.

I've got one question. Should I remove Elemental Equilibrium keystone? I figured that would help the fire discharge at least.

Honestly, i've tried the new mjolner and found that it suffered a lot less than a 60% dps loss.
I'm not doing any exact calculation, but i suspect the real nerf sits around a 20-25%.
I know very well that mjolner shouldn't be compared to the copri, as it's not crit based and a lot harder to eqip, but i think that if they just remove the 35% penality for triggered discharge, we could reach 2.4 dps values.

No comment on the kingsguard regen, it feels almost 30-40% weaker than before, but i think that we still can facetank things, with proper defences.

Overall, i tried running up to t14 maps and it has still been awesome against trash/blue/gold mobs, only bosses have been sightly longer. Tomorrow i'll try an uber lab run to test the actual capabilities of the build.



Hold on, Mjölner, don't die on us T_T
I did a quick A4M and damage is absolute trash. Damage single target isn't only abit slower, it's effectively 60% less damage.
