This assumptions and values may be wrong or very wrong, but the tendency seems clear. The more EC you have more damage, the more events to generate charges bigger discharges, more APS = more events.

So the real question is that if Arc is better than a support gem taking in count that Arc also provides events to get more charges but lower the damage of the discharge, and itself does low damage, but has a chance to shock. Arc adds 1 (2.449 to 3.449) to the the events to generate charges between discharges, and this increments the damage to 10% more than Discharge with Fire Penetration and Controlled Destruction.

IMO for bosses nothing beats Penetration and for fast clears with Shield Charge, a continuous and bigger Discharge between packs is better than get a sometimes a Discharge other an Arc and sometimes both. The damage bonus from extra events that Arc provides we could get them somewhere else via other triggers, more APS, more projectiles.


The max DPS should be around 273k.

I'll be updating the guide soon (should be ready for tommorow late evening). It is highly possible right now (if everythings goes well during my testing) that there will be 2 versions of the build. One of which was allready posted here and many players are allready using it. And one that seems (so far) is overall much better.

nice , have to start a new char? no problem with that =) with a mara respect this one work great , I came from the cyclone , ele equilibrium , vagan dagger , discharge... but now that one is very broken :/ instead this one with the mj CD still proc a lot of spells

Rico, just wondering if you might have tried a RT version? Or your tinkering is strictly around variation of the crit version?

I'm also wondering if its worth doing Arc-Discharge-CD for RT if you cant shock.

Using old build still, Got recked in Chimera fight, died to the chaos adds. Guess I should have done the map white or blue. Might need to work some chaose res in, or learn the add phase better to get hp from charges going before dieing so quick.

This is one of the toughest melee map bosses I've encountered in PoE (didn't fight Minotaur yet), he's especially deadly with dmg map mods.

NOTE: Whole map is done on a 5l so I'm missing Fortify for additional dmg reduction. This is why I didnt use RF on the final boss as I needed all the regen that I have. With RF this would go MUCH quicker.

Oh and I'm lvl 89 in the video, should reach 5.5k life @ 92.


Build highlights:
------------------------

+ 5.5k+ HP
+ cannot be stuned
+ cannot be frozen
+ 86/79/85 max resistances unflasked
+ 46% physical dmg reduction unflasked
+ 74% physical dmg reduction flasked
+ Arctic Armor on top of that for those big hitters
+ Fortify
+ 5 / 4.5 aps Molten / LS (tuned for the build)
+ using Lightning Strike with Arc for packs and Molten Strike for bosses
+ very good clear speed
+ 4/4 STABLE charges
+ double healing engine (will explain in the guide)
+ 15-20% MORE DPS than a current Low Life Berserker version
+ 56% MORE unbuffed DPS than a current Juggernaut version
+ and 150% (yes 150%) MORE DPS when buffed with RF than a current Juggernaut version
+ very consistent in terms of DPS
+ 6000 Arc dmg unbuffed (9500+ buffed with RF)
+ 15.7k Discharge unbuffed, 25k buffed with RF (and thats after all the nerfs, yeah)
+ designed to run RF when bossing without any drawback (positive life recovery under RF with Saffels)
+ 41% enemy elemental penetration
+ can be used as ranged (demonstrated vs bosses in the video)
+ can apply shock to targets with up to 190k hp pool (all blues and rares, most low-tier to mid-tier bosses, white to yellow maps)
+ 100% chance to hit (yep, its RT)


I'm still balancing and fine-tuning the build (dmg vs tankiness). Full guide with passive skill tree, gear&gems, more gameplay vids, aura setup and so on should be ready tomorrow in the evening.
