We can attack the boss and use the skills that makes poe fun to play. The boss your speaking of cant take any damage and will kill a lvl 100 in a lvl33 zone. Fair enough. Relevant point. Having to DPS while managing the boss mechanics adds a dimension to the experience that isn't present in the traps scenario. But even with this very important distinction, I still won't go as far as to say that the addition of the Lab is altering the game's archetype.


Its just a very generic design. The worse your char is, the easier the lab becomes (aside from es builds). Your class and build dont matter, all you want is movement speed and whirling blades + less duration + fast attks. Any class, any build (if you have right wep) can do this. The sad part is even lvl 1 gems are just as good as 20/20's.

Fall asleep fighting mobs you cant even target before death, avoid untargetable things that kill you in 3 secs (if not moving, no matter your char) only to be woken up to fight a boss who steals your vaal souls and makes you listen to his jibber jabber until he is ready to fight.

That's a good point, too. It does invalidate gear progression to some extent, which is pretty core to ARPGs. I didn't really consider that.
Playing the labyrinth I can see the team has put a huge effort in developing it. It has very beutiful areas, but my praise will stop here.

Unfortunately it doesn't fit the game style. It would be fine if this was only necessary for ascending your char, but it's meant to be farm to get enchantment !
This is the worse content I have to go thru in this game. It's too long, can't trade, no XP etc. All i want when I enter the lab is to get out ASAP. I hate those BS traps. What do we have traps in a arpg game anyway ?

Don't force us to farm this area, it sucks, big time.

There are still Maps if you need your gear progression validated.

Not that I think you should. This isn't a parking lot.


Thats actually a great idea, give us the option to complete a map or do the lab. Some people like the super mario/pitfall type game play, others prefer to kill stuff and get xp/loot.

Screw you, I play traps and love them :D

Unfortunately mine are targettable after 5secs. Didnt see the tree node that makes them untargetable like the monsters have. I thought this game was based on balance? Mobs and players have the same disposale of skills/spells. Much like d2, thats what made poe great, perfect balance no cheese.

It's just 3 playthrough it's not big deal and take way less time of writing and reading 15 forum pages :/

By the way it looks pretty fine to me that a Arpg requires some skill, like NOT jumping on a trap. There were peaple complaining because they couldn't facetank traps. Avoiding them?
