The labyrinth is both boring and frustrating
1. yes the trap damage is ridiculous regardless of difficulty level and character level
2. GGG claims labyrinth was to give taste of hardcore to rest of players - what a joke reason - if we want to play hardcore we would go play it 3. adding this crap nobody asked for TRUE FACT

I think a lot of my frustration with the labyrinth has mostly been delocalized frustration at the new patch. I'm loving the new league, but I've had an astounding number of client crashes and zoning issues that didn't seem to happen before. I think people start to notice this when they actually try to do content that takes a while or that serves a penalty. If it is a map, who cares, you have more portals.
For me, I'm okay with crashes and lag because its part of the online package, but its frustrating to get halfway through a lab run, doing fine and just having your client freeze up (full disclosure: that's why I'm here =p). At least a fourth to half (and I'm trying to be realistic) of my runs in the lab have been DC's or client crashes due to some error I can't see because PoE won't minimize. I still have it playing music in the background right now, not responding (not even an error message this time). |

+1 to the OP.
Boring and frustrating, well said. In a game that has issues with desynch and disconnects, it makes little sense to add a twitch-sensitive part of the game that you need to start over if something goes wrong, well said. It comes from left field to gate highly enticing rewards behind unrewarding gameplay that's nothing like the rest of the game, well said. Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes? " Parts of the game that aren't fun are either skipped or run through and put into the rear view mirror as quickly as possible. Labyrinth fits into the second category. To me that fits with "enjoying the journey." YMMV. Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

I don't mind the lab as something characters have to go through to get Ascendancy points, and challenging Izaro at lower levels can be exciting, but the challenges in the temp league are making me bored of the lab real quick. The layouts are too similar, and it's such a slog with characters with average movement speed. And is it just me, or does the lab feel very tacked on and not well integrated into the story?
I don't hate the lab, it's just not something I want to spend any time in after getting my Ascendancy points (except maybe in Standard to grind for enchants with a high level, incredibly fast-moving character... of course I'd rather run maps since the monster level is so low). If not for the challenge, I bet not many gonna run them more than 3 times just for the points.
It's not exactly very challenging after you get a few runs of it and get some experience on how things works. Just why the hell are helmet enchantments skill specific?? Holy cow... All I do now is just: 1, go to reddit, see if got stuff for challenge 2, SPEED RUN lab, just to get challenge done 3, repeat if got mood, otherwise just go grind map Last edited by xonedl#1873 on Mar 22, 2016, 9:45:05 AM

" +1 Labyrinth is quite a challenge first time you encounter it. Not so for 80+ level character (properly built and geared). Izaro and Labyrtnth mobs stagnate at 68 level and pose no threat at all. Traps slow you down for a while, but with potions and lightning warp (leap slam) at hand, you can run through lots of them without delay. GGG should somehow made Labyrynth mobs and Izaro in-line with maps (or combine those two). IGN: MortalKombat

" Labyrinth is not going to be higher level unless maps are pushed to even higher levels. Else it would be inefficient to run maps. I actually wouldn't mind that change, :P Add a Forsaken Masters questline

The more I run the Lab, the more I grow to dislike it.
I started with an open mind. Give it a chance, see how it goes. After a couple days - "I'm not really enjoying this, but whatever. It's only once per difficulty, and at least Izaro is cool." After a week - "I really don't wanna go back in there. It's frustrating and even Izaro is starting to piss me off just by association with the Lab. POE was not built to support this kind of gameplay." And now - "Goddammit if I have to put up with one more DC/lag death/whateverrandombullshit in here I'm done with this game and this time I'm not coming back." I've been in and out of POE since beta. There's been plenty of things I liked, and plenty of things I didn't like. But nothing has ever had quite this effect on me, making me dread playing. I'm right on that line, GGG. It's not like I'm throwing fat stacks of cash at you every couple weeks, so you won't really miss me all that much. But for my part I'm sad this is probably going to end on such a bitter note. |
