Who balanced the Labyrinth?

^

I feel ES-based characters are generally disadvantaged in the Labyrinth.

I played on my life-based character (~5k life at the time - took off Kaom's to have more movespeed) and was like "LOL, this is so easy, those traps can't kill me, my Seething potion is there to save me anyway."

Then I jumped into the Labyrinth with my 8,2k ES character and got absolutely destroyed by traps. The spike traps hit me for ~4,2k damage and I couldn't recharge immediately because, you know, ES. Another mistake and I was dead. This was normal difficulty.
I'm not a native English speaker. Should you spot a mistake in my post, feel free to point it out. Thanks!

it is a giant L2P expansion guys

for too long gear and uber-dips were enough so even clay fingered heroes could be winners

no longer

meanwhile it takes ~10-12 minutes for a merc Lab run. these echants are pretty cool, sadly too random to really 'aim' at something specific
later tonight i'm probably going to re-spec my CI lv 80 witch into a hybrid build and swap my shield, boots, and gloves for stuff with life on it instead of ES. then at least i might have a chance with a quiver full of life pots.

But this crap of having to respec a char with 12 ex in CI gear, just to complete the centrepiece of the new expansion... it's

sub optimal.

...I look at the new act 5 boss where you have to hide behind the statues to survive the bullet hell and all I can think is... how the fuck are zombies going to survive that?

They don't know what hiding is... they don't know what dodging is... they are morons.
if you do that - you admit you do not know what you are doing

if anything CI has it EASIER than life builds as it has INFINITE pot. roll bleeding on your flasks and for once 'give a damn' about what you are doing. if i can speed run this stuff with a gear worth less that your chest piece - you can do that too. but you just have to try
Yeah, so i've gone 1000 hours + of generally satisfying gameplay without knowing what i'm doing.

what does that say of my teachers?

STFU elitist bastard

I had 10k+ es on my low life character. The way it survives is by killing mobs (i.e. no mitigation). It took me 7 hours to complete the labyrinth on all 3 difficulties on that character.

I surely hope you are joking, did you try not standing in the traps maybe?

One shotted by final Izaro fight.

I'm 37, shield, eva, 900 hp, and he just raped me.
And I'm a trapper, didn't even facetank him, tried to run, can't even escape, no time to lay traps.
He's just too strong, too fast, ridiculous dmg, ON NORMAL.

Why do you force us to go full tanky life build?
Softcore is about dps.
Most builds are glasscannons.
Nobody wants to burn 20 regrets just to get their 2 asc points,
and then respec into dps again...

he didn't hit that hard for me I had 1.1k hp and I was good
One of my level 90+ characters is not designed for the lab and has failed multiple times at the most difficult level. Latest try she just got teleported into the lava and jumped on as soon as she got out, instant death and a waste of 30 min of my life for nothing and not much I could have done about it at all.

My other build that is 1 level higher, completely blows through the traps with my eyes closed and has no problem face tanking the boss with doing nothing about the totems, or what ever those things are.

So basically, if you want ascendancy points, you have to do specific builds, otherwise you're simply screwed over. Pretty lame considering this is to get the core niche of your build.
