which tier? at low-mid tiers, even with added ele dmg/crit/increased dmg mods, they shouldn't go down in 1 shot

The only time my totems go down extremely fast, is by those crazy perandus mobs spamming skills like mad. Also the map mods, extra projs/chaining, will take your totems down very fast as well, either reroll or play more carefully on those maps

doing between 8-13 depending on map drops
ignore the gems

so its better buy a crafted dagger ?
yes, preferably with at least 100% crit chance, 50% spell dmg, 20+% crit multiplier, and some flat dmg. It will outdps a divinarius

Dual wield divinarius only if you really need the aoe

was doing t5s at level 67 to try it out. some maps were fine but anything with ranged mobs or bosses was impossible

I'm still only in the tier 9 range, so I'm curious as well if my gear will be good enough at tier 11-12. But keep in mind, my gear also has Chaos res which is something most people don't seem to care about. I'm sitting at 20+ in the positive in merciless with my gear. Mostly self found. 1 chaos dagger, 2 chaos shield, 30 chaos carcass Jack. (disregard some of the gems, I'm just lvling them as an aside)

Spoiler

So far I can say this

EB and MoM creates an ES recovery issue if you don't have Vaal Discipline. This gem is almost build making/breaking. Most deaths will come from your totems running out of life or duration and not being able to recast them because you're in combat and your es pool isn't recharging. And since you're running 3 auras, you have 100% reservation of mana.
Solutions are Vaal Discipline, Vaal Clarity, or sorrow of the divine flask if you have high life regen.

Also, does anyone know why the passive tree changed at Doom Cast in the upper right. Swapping two 15% multi passives for a 20% crit chance passive? For leveling it makes sense but end game, wouldn't the multiplier be better? I suppose it depends on if someone is using ICD and ICS
For anyone that's made it to around lvl 90-94, I assume Quick recovery are the last passives most people are going for unless they're in HC. If at that point dmg is still an Issue I'd suggest re-picking up those two crit multi's at Doom cast, or grabbing the two 18% totem crit multi passives at Shamanistic Dominion
The +14 life and 20% mana regen passive at the start of the Templar tree could also perhaps be useful. Finally, anyone going even beyond that. The 3 passives to another Jewel Slot on the right of Elementalist. You get +20 str along the way opening up a little more gear flexibility. Or the +20 dex to the jewel slot above Blood Drinker. Either or. I think most will have str issues before dex issues. Build tops out at I think a 98 dex requirement for a 20 Hatred and AA.
Questions for SoundOfSilence/Lifting/anyone else knowledgeable about this build:

If I want to use a spell to trigger Assassin's Mark and Power Charge on Crit, is it better to use Orb of Storms because it's only necessary to cast once and won't disrupt ES regeneration (after MoM/EB) or something like Arc which feels more reliable and can cause Shock but disrupts ES regeneration?

Basically, I'm trying to decided between X - PCoC - CoH - Assassin's Mark, X = Arc or Orb.

Thanks!

Are you making sure to use the Zealoth's Oath + Stone Golem setup. It makes it significantly easier to sustain the ES cost of the totems :)

no contest, orb of storms hands down

the ES regeneration is very important, you cast orb with 2 totems and start whirling blade around for ES to recharge, at the same time manually dodging stuffs and proccing instruments of virtue

arc at lvl20 chain 7 times and you have to keep casting if you faced many packs at once. If your totems can't kill fast enough, you will just be chaining the same 7 mobs...in terms of efficiency, reliability and mana cost, arc loses out to orb of storms big time

Shock? Not a big issue. With high crit chance/multiplier, your totems is dealing more than enough dmg to cause all the status ailments

If your totems is going down too fast, consider using enfeeble instead of assassin mark. It adds abit more durability to your totems and yourself
