First Wave of Trade Improvements
It's great to see that an ingame trading system is coming along. It really is.
But the premium-only thing is not cool. It just smells fishy. If the true goal of this change really was to bring trading to the masses, then you sohouldn't be limiting it to premium tabs. It's especially a slap in the face for people who didn't think the premium tabs were worth the extra cost and only bought standard ones, since now you get much, MUCH, MUCH more for the extra cost of a premium tab. It might be sporting to give people who only bought standard tabs one premium tab for free. Also, extra style penalty for the "3rd party tools are still there lol" comment. |

A person with 2 premium stash tabs has an advantage over person with 1 premium stash tab.
A person with 3 premium stash tabs has an advantage over person with 2 premium stash tabs. A person with 4 premium stash tabs has an advantage over person with 3 premium stash tabs. How is this system not pay-to-win? Installing/configuring 3rd party tools takes time, effort and knowledge. Most people don't have the advanced knowledge of configuring xml files. Are kids and less-educated people supposed to always be at a disadvantage? Last edited by _Interrupt_#7402 on Mar 1, 2016, 2:27:48 PM

" You are still perfectly able to trade using the forums to list items as well. This doesn't prevent you from trading in the way that people have been, it just opens up a new option as the first part of several planned trade changes. Please contact support@grindinggear.com if you need any assistance.

I am hugely dissapointed by this update.
I've been focusing on buying standard stash tabs,so it would be extra expenses for me just to use this system, it is also extremely disavantageous to free to play players who have only 4 STANDARD tabs. Definitely not the majority of the public were interested in premium stash tabs before, while its sale passed just a few days ago and i haven't bought em because i've had no idea sometihng like this was coming I am very angry right now, seems like outright cashgrab.. Once I believed that GGG is special, that it won't try to set our wallets on fire.. I was wrong. | |
" Um, they weren't born with natural time, effort, and knowledge 'advantages'. If you made an indexed shop forum in the past, you weren't handed it - you learned how to do it. And nothing is stopping anyone else from doing the same. And if you insist that 1<2<3<4 is a meaningful advantage - that's one that has already existed in the game, this doesn't change that at all. |

To everyone that is totally and blindly supporting this change as a "win" for the game.
Tell me... What happens when the owners/devs of these third party trading sites/tools move onto other games and/or no longer have the time or resources to devote to maintaining these sites/tools? What will you do then? Having some Joe-Schmoe manage, literally manage, the trading in this game is so horribly thought out. I would much rather the game devs manage the trade, than some small group of people living in their mother's basement with a website hosted on go-daddy or something. I've seen this happen all too often where a gaming community relied on a small handful of sources for gaming functions, only to eventually realize that the owners/devs of these resources left the game and moved on with their lives. Then you are like "ok so now what? How do we trade efficiently and quickly?" Get trading out of the third-party support business. It has no business being handled like this outside of POE. Why are people complaining that this feature is P2W? Aren't additional tab stashes already P2W? Chaos recipe in late game is not very easy with 4 stashes.
Though I agree with those that spend some money on regular stashes and now they just discover that they should have bought premium ones. Also, GGG could have told this new feature last Friday before the stash sale. I think this is a bad and risky move from GGG for 2 reasons: -Although I disagree with the P2W argument, I agree with the argument that this will leave people away from a feature. People that don't buy these stashes might not be able, in the long run (if 3rd parties simply stop scanning the forum), to sell their stuff. This might make some people to move away from the game, since they will get the feeling they are not enjoying as much as others. -It is possible, that some players like to sell stuff but don't want to be bother all the time with PM, since they are mapping or just chilling. I didn't saw on this feature an option to make a player show offline. Ofc you can always dnd but since you are implementing a trading mechanism for third parties, you could already implement a mechanism that you could choose to be shown offline on that api. All in all, I hope this change makes the game better, and I hope GGG listen to the users and in a next release make some adjustments. |

Diablo iii = $30
Dark Souls iii = $60 You & Girl Friend out a night = what, ~ $50 - $100? Etc. Path of Exile = Free 1 Premium Stash Tab = $4 6 Preimum Stash Tabs = $20 And, what is the question again? |

" Looks a bit exagerated Buying beta key was also considered pay2win Someone could even argue that cosmetic microtransaction are pay to win, because your character looks good u actually like it more and play more then win :) Please guys, everyone with 1 premium tab will enjoy this. The guys without it still can win. Converting one of the four starting tabs to premium for free looks like a nice move to me. Still I hope GGG gets more support. This free to play game has more quality , replayability than most of other games that are not free. |
