First Wave of Trade Improvements

This is fantastic news and I'm so happy this is happening. Though next, it would be great to have "Comparison prices" for the item, when right clicking and setting the price. But overall this wil make my PoE life much easier.

Read the OP again (Removed by Support). You can still use the 3rd party sites, apps and indexing services. Like every f2p game ever, if you don't want to pay you don't have to but you're going to have to work a bit harder.

I'm sure there's some backwards internal justification for the hardcore NEETs as to why this convenience should be made available to them. That they play and trade so extensively it should be available, but they refuse to spend a cent on the game they're so heavily invested in.

I like this idea. Alongside giving 1 free tab upgrade they could do this promotion. They could even do them in bundles as well so the price is even equals for people who bought normal tabs in bundles.

To stop people making more accounts for more tabs they could gate the free tab upgrade behind some basic content. I would have it be a secondary reward for finding Tolman's Bracelet, Saving Clarissa, or completing Victario's Secrets (sewer busts). (to fit in the world it would be a reward book from a vendor. Could even add flavor text like "When I started trading, this came in very handy." This would both give a lore friendly reason for the upgrade and clue new players into the fact that premium tabs have trade functions. Of course you could fit this reward fairly easily into any existing quest that ends at a trader.

im excited about this update. it should make me more motivated to try to sell my items, and causes less hassle. thanks!

100% p2w. What you've done is offered essential features but behind a paywall. Not only that, but one of the reasons GGG claims to have implemented such a feature is for security reasons. They don't want people using third party programs, especially ones that require your PoE account & password. So, they've acknowledged security as an issue, but only offer you it behind a paywall. You already know people without premium stash tabs are going to continue to use third party software to manage trading.

-Purchase stash tabs
-You get extra trade features, not available to people who don't spend money
-You get added security

PoE is a p2w game.

You just sat there, not more than a moment ago and listed off a laundry list of complaints about the current trading system, it's limitations, inefficiency, instability and lack of security.

Then in the next breath, you decide to make the new system for paid members only.

You might as well have just came out and said "unable to or don't want to buy premium stash tabs? we don't care about you at all, stop playing our game".

Secondly this entire system you've laid out is basically a auction house without the button that says "auction house" why keep beating around the bush?.

Oh right, because it's easier and less work to monetize the current system.

This is how the entire opening post read to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my opinion on what I read.

It is not an auction house, in fact it is exactly the same as the system that is in place now, except now you set the prices in game as opposed to setting them out of the game in acquisition.

To your last point why shouldn't GGG monetize this? It's not unethical, and players can still use 3rd party programs if they don't want to pay.

Next Improvement: premium trade window

Your premium stash tab with its premium trade search ability is not complete without premium trade window. Trades done with the premium stash tab will not work unless you upgrade your normal trade window to a premium trade window. It has all sorts of bells and whistles, like picture in picture so you can trade with two people at the same time!

Pay to win? No way! Pay to trade! Its called tax fools!

Dude we dont say we dont wanna pay. I pay, i buy. I can buy again. But p2w means paying puts you head of other players. And if you can sell items while off and i cant because i didnt buy premium stash tab that makes it p2w.

I pay, i support, but i dont like the basic trading system with real money involved. That's pretty p2w and i already bought regular stash tabs...

I truly don't understand all the salt. Trade continues to operate exactly the same as it always has, but now players have the option to not use Aquisition or Procurement, and instead use in-game Public tabs for listing items. This is awesome!

My 128 premium tabs are salivating over this change.
