[2.2] King's "Jupiter Ascendant" - 4 curse hybrid/CI non-crit Occultist Witch [HC&Beginner friendly]
I will use pledge of hands, so with a 6link weapon and a 6link armor, we can 6 link arc and 6link herald of thunder + curse on hit + 4 curses!

Uh, that would be sweet!

First steps in maps with a build variation of this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1e2c3SRQ3c As I said before, just got witch-templar AoE nodes and changed faster casting for less duration. It works really nice. Also, Orb of Storms is not that bad as I said, with radius nodes is decent. Didn't kill a resists elements rare in that video, but I can tell you it shatters them. " How do you keep up Elemental Overload consequently ? I need Orb of Storm to see it pop sometime, and with Arc it is so rare.(even without controlled destr) |
|
" i don't do anything special. I don't have it at 100% uptime, but I do when i use orb of storm in big packs, so it's enough for me. you can try ice spear with increased critical strikes/fastercasting if you want to proc it easier. | |
Why/how are we using Elemental Overload with a non-crit build? Just as an added bonus, because "why not"?
|
|
The idea of Elemental Overload is to use it on a non-crit build. You just need 10-15% crit chance to crit every 8 seconds and gain a huge buff of 40% more damage!

UPDATE: added Rime Gaze helmet and Storm Call for single target damage! That should work great against bosses and rares.

" Glad to have my spark/orb leveling strategy confirmed as legit by someone who almost assuredly is better at this game than me! =D Thanks! I hadn't thought to add a controlled destruction to orb (not sure if I have the links to support one atm), but I've got one on spark and added lightning on both. " I've currently got a lifesprig that only has one socket on it - is that the sort of item that would be worth trying to roll more sockets on, so I could run the orb with supports and get the benefit of the +1 level to spells? Or at level 27 should I start looking for shields or armor with more sockets/links? I am pretty much entirely clueless when it comes to itemization in this game - my witch is currently level 27 and in act 3 normal, which is further than I've ever gotten before, and I'm starting to feel things getting tougher again. I felt really squishy early on, then a2 was a breeze with the orb/spark combo, now things are feeling tough again. EDIT: Also plz don't judge my random-ass gear selection too harshly if you check out my profile - I haven't really found a decent theme in what's good and have been mostly operating on a "more affixes = better" method of choosing items, provided decent socket setups. " Lifesprig is great for leveling! Make sure you 3-link it and use it for Spark + Controlled destruction + faster casting/added lightning. This build is great for learning because there's not much to look for! You can use lifesprig until cruel difficulty (or even later on), until you get a 4L. Try and get as much ES on gear as possible, as well as life and resists. Resists are crucial if you're playing HC. Investing in Goldrim unique helmet might be a good idea. Look it up on poe.trade, it should be worth around 2c. Try and cap your resist in each difficulty. Having Doedre's Damning and Herald of Thunder setup (Herald of Thunder + Curse on Hit + Conductivity + Warlord's Mark) will boost your chances of survival. Act 4 is really hard and people usually pay someone to do it for them (at least in HC league). I'm currently lvl 45 and I have 1700 hp + 400 es. Try aiming for something like that (at least). Rolling flasks is also important. Having instant heal flask will save you more than once. |
