Skill Reveal - Ancestral Protector

Am I the only one who noticed that this totem procs the Herald of Ash on-kill effect? Looks like a slightly different kind of totem, mechanics wise.

It also fits nicely with the other new caster spells, like the ice thing that you drop on the ground and helps you clear that pack of mobs that much quicker.

Looks like another slow play promotion. I don't think that will be accepted by many players.
To me, this is what Animated Guardian was supposed to be. Floating guy around you that boosts you but can be killed - A2 D2 Mercenary :)

Not that i would plan to play meelee but i would not have space for this on my bar.
Since it will be totem, no CWDT setup = LAME

Maybe this totem is the "fix" for melee in boss fights where you can't get close to the bosses because they will instagib you otherwise :)

nomatter how i appriciate creativity of devs this one just doest fit the game like siege ballista
i think every content other than the character like mines traps totems have their own logic its sometimes magic or basic mechanic but a physical performance is just not suitable for explanation which siege ballista and this specific totem fills the position

Assuming that the totem uses just your weapon, without any of the sockets linked in it, this would be pretty good if you had a 'causes bleeding on hit' weapon and used bloodlust in your gem setup.
I would rather see melee attks totems that can actually support active melee skills and buff a bit melee in a way to make it more hardcore viable. Anyway we must appreciate the GGG's hard work so for that I am happy and I thank them all for what they did to this game.

I can already imagine a bunch of new builds that seem kinda dumb. Wonder if they get the RF effect on them? ;)
Ahm, pleeeassse dont tell me this is your "improvement" for melee.

...stay close to a spot, dont move to much, be a nice target and give up one of the most important defences = move around. ...you wont be able to use another totem (rejuv totem), instead you have to link it with support gems for good functionality and of course unlike minions it stays on spot, so you have to recast it: again and again, and again... and again ...

Sorry, Im not impressed as melee player.
