What is the radius of 'nearby'?

Right. I suppose there's no chance of getting something like 'allies in a small/medium/large radius have 18% increased damage'?

Sometimes it's hard to plan without having at least some kind of clue or seeing firsthand how big the area is. For instance, dying breath would be a good item for a supporter but it could also be too dangerous to use if the effect radius is small, and there's no way of knowing in advance. It would be similar to saying 'this weapon does some amount of damage between x and y'... no, wait...
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

It is very painful not knowing things like this in addition to things like reave AOE. There is no way to know if your Iaoe investment has any actual impact in the game. Wonky visual indicators (BV) exacerbate the issue even further.

Any radius based passive or skill should clearly list it's base AoE.

Agreed, we have wiki listing it for most skills but it's nowhere to be found ingame, which is strange as it's basic info. No idea why is it assumed a PoE player has zero grasp of distance so we supposedly have no idea how much one unit is [removed by support]

Currently the Ascendancy nodes that grant auras all have radii of 40, but this value is not yet final and might change.

Thanks Mark! 40 seems a bit underwhelming at first, however I obviously can't really judge it at this point.

About listing the base AoE of skill gems etc, why is this not a thing?

It's not just an issue of listing it in game, it's an issue of GGG never giving us AOE values in the first place - for example, reave.

aunt google pointed me to this thread, -
Just asking if "nearby" is affected by AOE increasing nodes? This would help alot.

(this question is answered for nearby effects on unique items -. but what about enchants, and ascandancy nodes?)

Why don't they just put the radius instead of "nearby" ??

I have no idea if the Augury of Penitence ascendant node is worth using..

All I can tell you is that if you're melee, it's definitely worth using. On my Oro's Inquisitor, it feels like it covers the whole screen. So, if you're a fan of off-screening, maybe not so much. But it would still help defensively.
