I think with the addition of 2 more points on the tree Occultist is even better. You can swap in a Power Charge on Crit gem and go for the +1 curse instead from the ascendancy.

Daym, I was trying to revive my witch, she was my first char and I played her CI Ice Spear before it went to shit, ever since then I tried multiple cold builds and couldn't find anything I like, and I miss CI sooooooooooooooo much. Thanks for this build, I'll try it as soon as I get home! *Hoping I kept some of my old ES gear* =)

I find that I can sustain basically all the time full power charges only from the occultist passive (I 'm currently lvl 82 and a crit flask does wonders when you begin to stack the charges), so eventually dropping assasin's mark once you have stacked enough crit (either for another curse or for saving some passives from +1 curse) is something that the build can definitely allow as an option.

I threw in a herald of thunder with curse on hit and tied assassin's mark with a frostbite on it, so I can use crit multi instead of cold pene linked to my freezing pulse, so far its pretty awesome, and I'm keeping charges up with no problem with the occultist passive + the mark <3

is this build viable in 2.3? also to the op any chance you could update it or even add a leveling tree?

I think is better if i don't trash ppl's work, but it didn't really worked for me.

Do you have any problems sustaining life/energy shield with this build? Currently I have spent about 52 skill points optimizing Mana, Life, and Critical Strike for Spells, and find I am dying easily.

Also I have already helped Alira with the bandits for +60 maximum mana. Is that ok?

To all those asking for updates I haven't played this game for a long time and don't intend on playing again any time soon.
