[2.2] Blade Vortex FLASK MASTER. 88% All Res, 75/75 Block, 500-800k DPS, INSTANT LEECH
The change of BV mechanics hits hard my theory to use it with Elemental Overload passive keystone. In fact, even with the raw 5% crit chance of the spell gem itself i would have done a good number of crits to do.
And i would not do a crit build which is pretty costful in the new upcoming league. But now... i dont know if i can manage to do a crit every 8 sec, even with 10% crit chance. |

BV with 50 blades hits 50 times a second after the nerf. If you go down to raw 5% crit rate you should still crit 2,5 times a second on average. With BV you will have now worries about getting a crit per 8 seconds.

" Hey man, just a clarification. If you crit once on BV, will all the blade do crit damage or just the "one blade" that critted ? Kind new to how BV work regarding crit thx! |
|
" I see. So, do you think it is a good choice to go noncrit Overload? Or do you think that the crit version will be a lot more powerful? (Im asking you about this especially for the related initial cost of the build in the new league, and the non crit version is surely a lot cheaper than the crit version) Anyway: with 50 blades you do 0.02 hits per second, you say. But how much increase duration and cast speed are required to keep up 50 blades? Are spell echo and a skill duration passive cluster good enough? I was thinking to do a Scion Berserker/Pathfinder RF BV. I think that in the most times, though, 25-30 blade up are more than enough to clear with a decent speed. It's just that one blade that will crit. All blades are a single spell and crit is rolled when that blade in question is cast.
Have to say that I've not calculates that Overload, but I assume that it would be very viable if you use just Controlled Destruction and Hatred+ToH (maybe VoV+PtL or something else also). With Physical to Lightning your phys damage to elemental damage comparison could be 75%ele and 25%phys (crude count). Controlled Destruction drops crit to 5% and is more damage. Overload is also more damage. It's a lot dependable on the build you use, but I'd say in normal situations when fast clearing you will have more like 10-20 blades up, which is enough with normal monsters and you don't have to cast that often. I've been personally using spell echo/faster casting and all duration nodes from tree. If you only take half of the duration nodes then increased duration support might be a good idea. Although I've seen some builds use it with all duration nodes also. With 10-20 blades it should still be very easy to keep Overload going. Normally only against bosses and strongboxes and etc would you have 30-50 blades up. IGN Eilonway

" I would do a similar passive tree:

What do you think about that? As you can see i only get 10% cast speed and only one skill duration cluster. Since i'll have high strenght, I was thinking on using BV+ IW + Controlled Destruction + Spell echo + inc aoe/conc aoe + Phys to light Last edited by Serge91#5363 on Mar 4, 2016, 9:58:51 AM

honestly that new elemental node is great and all, but it will NOT replace crit builds. you could probably make a BV build with it, but by not going crit i'd suggest going super tanky BV build, and that node is kind of out of the way of anything resembling super tanky anyway.
with blade vortex i'd say your biggest defense is a massive offense with ridiculous BV damage via crit where you can spin up 50 blades just before the boss, jump on top of the boss and melt them in 2 seconds |

Nugiyen was playing pathfinder BV for a couple of days with shit gear and only level 80... But all in all it looked pretty solid and obviously with that shit gear he farmed and no unique flasks (and only level 80) there's lots of room for improvement... I deffinately think this build will work endgame.

" But what about reflect? |

If one is happy with tier 9-11 maps then going with as high as possible dps works bloody well. After that one starts needing more from defenses also.
Instant life leech and high elemental resistances will take care of reflect (+spell block/spell dodge). IGN Eilonway
