Undying Bladefall [2.2 Update]
" Yeah though I'm not sure about the point efficiency of True Strike. Also assassin's mark is one of the best dps spells for phys/ele crit builds. All my builds /view-thread/1430399

Thanks for the build. My first character and league (I played an insane amount of hours, on a sabbatical from work). Did Sherkhan's build until roughly 90, then switched to this. Level 96, Did a rare core (extra life), can't seem to get HoG (there'a few characters that 1 shot me with 7.6k ES), and debating whether to spend my last few ex on a mortal hope, or mess around and try to chance a skyforth.

Great work with this build, it's perfect in defense and offense at the same time.
Even without Vinktar flask it would have been strong and solid. With Vinktar, it makes (almost) all other builds look like useless crap in comparison. It's not Bladefall that makes this build OP. Flask is. For sake of builds diversity and balance I really hope that GGG gonna nerf that flask as much as it deserves to be nerfed. | |
" So we could argue, but I definitely think it's a combination of flasks+BF. For example I tried adapting the flask archetype to a reave build in standard, and even though the reave had 470k tooltip, it was still killing single targets much slower than my 354k Bladefall. This build is definitely strong and I can understand why people enjoy it, but personally I doubt I would play it again because the clearspeed is mediocre (ie. 20-30% slower than bow/wand and 50-80% slower than 2.1 vaal spark). And when farming/going for 100 clearspeed is king, since t15s don't give very good exp any more. OTOH this build might still be a great way to start a new league... First I'd like to say I LOVE this build and I'm planning to use this build for the next patch, I just had some questions about the next patch, assuming they do not move the passive nodes too much, how would u start off as a ranger, I'm thinking pathfinder would be the best way to further this build. Basically, there is only 3 problems I have ever had with this build. 1. although we get the avoid stun passives, we still get stunned, quite often I'd might add, is there anyway we can negate the stuns? 2. often even with the flasks up, especially in high end maps, I would get frozen, I kinda solved this problem with a slight tweek in gear choice, I wanted so see what thoughts u had on it(gear below). 3. This is a flask oriented build, we are strong and nearly unkillable with the flask up, BUT what happens when u run out? (I'm guessing pathfinder will solve this problem with master surgeon, but as for now...) Often times I find myself running out of charges in long fights with little to no add spawns from boss, ie. dessaro, or when I am in a full party, and boss hp is a lot higher, what can we do about that? we cant port out and go back in when its a full party, does this mean we can only solo with this build?
I use the unique belt Maligario's Restraiant for the 60% extra damage when shocked, the defensives of this build is so good, I feel that being shocked wouldn't effect us so much, with an ES pool of 7500 any damage that would hit should not be able to oneshot us, and the ones that would one shot is we should probably avoid anyways, ie. uber double flameblast, so the double damage from being shocked shouldnt even matter. Passive tree: I would really like to hear input from all those who play this awesome build and try to make this build more better. IGN: Dercaz pst away!!!

" 1. Craft stun avoidance on your helm and if you still have trouble get 30% additional stun avoidance on the tree. You could drop the 2pts in ranger block. I never notice getting stunned even running uber and core malachai since I got the 35% stun avoidance on helm. 2. This is a real problem, but with TOH up and 75/70+ block you should be able to avoid this. The only time it's been an issue is uber vaals (replace mings with dream frags) and core malachai (replace mings or replace staunching with heat). 3. You can also die when bosses like daresso or malachai go invulnerable. In map rotations I've typically solo'd bosses, and with 200-350k DPS you can solo almost all bosses safely. I agree that getting flask from surgeon's would be great, but we also don't crit that much and 20% is meh. I think pathfinder is better for more crit/sec builds. I would go occultist or assassin probably. All my builds /view-thread/1430399

Would you consider going scion now? since they can do occult/ass, or occ/path?

" I was thinking about that too, but unless the passive tree really changes, it doesn't seem like an ideal starting point. Not sure what Matrix thinks though. Last edited by kidbeta#5437 on Feb 26, 2016, 12:02:33 PM
