Dear Grinding Gear Games!

We are the Russian-speaking community playing on international servers. We kindly ask you to take into account our concern (interests) during further game development. The localization from Garena company has no value for our community, as we consider it inappropriate to play on Garena servers for several reasons:

Stand-alone server: detachment of all other PoE-community. Low online rate. Dead economy. We don’t want to play in reservation.

Garena doesn’t want to hear a thing from its own community: it defies judgement and opinion of community, that lead to further described problems.

Translation quality sometimes is a point of issue and somewhere disgusting: first of all it is about characters classes. Duelist is translated as Gladiator (long before 2.2.0 subclasses announce). Templar - Priest. Shadow - Bandit. Marauder - Savage… Same stuff with the skill gems: Animatron instead of Animate Guardian, North Armour instead of Arctic Armour. With the announcement of subclasses in v 2.2.0 level of unreason pushed far beyond the limit: Gladiator is named Dimacher, Inquisitor - Investigator, Champion was left as Champion, while in russian this word have nothing to do with knights.

Names of story characters, NPCs and Masters were also “translated”: it’s hard to overestimate damage done to the game. Two editions of the game came to life due to these amendments, each one with its own history, story characters and unique items. Even the atmosphere feeling of original game was corrupted. And when Garena players ask us for help - we simply can’t understand each other. Because of this, russian community were artificially separated in two parts, that can barely come to an understanding. One of the most contested decisions was the change of Masters names. As Garena representatives say, new names has some meaning in translation from Greek. But we don’t know Greek - its just names for us! Moreover, new names call for needless associations (Antiopa - antelope) or sounds obscene in russian (Elpidon - El Faggot). And the question “Was there a real need to change the names?” was left unanswered by Garena.

This petition bears no ultimatum demands - we’ll keep playing and support the game we like anyway. It’s intended to show that the most part of russian community is playing and will keep playing on international servers, and we need Russian language support in official game client.

What do we want?

Russian chat window in official game client: together with English, Portuguese, and others that follow. It’s the simpliest part and at the same time the most important. It will be easier for new players to adopt in game, to chat and to trade, making it in habitual language environment.

Game interface and mechanics localization, but no title translations: we use only original names for skills and passives, talking about it in game and russians forums.

Other game content translation: It would be a limit of our ambitions. All NPC dialogues, storyline - but keep the names as they are.

Let us cancel the Garena server annoying ads at official game website.

It doesn't looks like we have big success, but whatever.
There's no big media (not belonging to Garena) where we can spread information.
