Your pathing seems really inefficient, you don't get enough out of Heart of Oak and Finesse to justify the amount of points you go there for. Finesse is worse than a good jewel and Heart of Oak is worse than 2 scion life rectangle nodes. ChC is also only 20% crit (the node before it), 12% increased damage and 20 int, which isn't very efficient either. Furthermore, you miss out on two very important things; the Duelist Static Electricity location, and a power charge. After playing the build for a while (and because i use the new sulphur flask + inquisitor) I don't really like vaal pact, so I opt to not take it, but it generally just comes down to whether or not you like it. I actually spec back into it for Izaro. Here's what I have at 75 (one point free for vaal pact)

I was thinking endgame alpha's howl with an aura node and herald of thunder might be more damage than a rats nest like oldschool buzzsaw builds because of all the WED you get with this build with +2 (+3?) wrath and the amount of crit we already have but i'll have to experiment. Forces of Nature should be a big effective dps boost though because -6% ele resist is a lot, though that might just be my inner median xl talking. Arcing Blows or Fangs of Frost would be a really big effective dps boost i feel with 14% ele pen but they're both really hard to get to and i have no idea how to calculate -enemy resist in this game. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it cuz I'll let you guys know sooner or later but here's my endgame build with intuitive leap (add 3 free points).

I'm currently level 52 and this is my tree so far. I'm torn between going crit, or something along the lines of mathils non-crit build. Obviously, if I end up going non crit, I will have to change up the tree a tab bit. As someone mentioned before the alphas helm seems like a pretty solid choice for endgame as it is pretty budget friendly.

I'm having a lot of fun running ele ST for the first time since Ambush. I chose Beserker for the extra life leech and Assasin for the extra crit. Right now, I'm lvl 82, 35K ST, 83% crit (with crit support gem and 4 power charges), and both Izaro merciless and Atziri normal are fast and easy to clear.

After reading def7ant's post, I will probably respec into the duelist tree to benefit from the second static electricity jewel slot. Also, I'm curious to know if anyone is theorycrafting interesting ascendency combos and gear?

I've went with Berserker and Deadeye. The 6th projectile row really speeds the already fast clear up speed.

Im lvl 84 atm, took off Vaal Pact as I got fed up with it. Added Master of the Arena, and Heart of the Oak for the regen, went blood rage on everything and filled up my mana with herald of ice, herald of thunder and wrath.

It's partially this build, partially what Mathil had in 2.0 and a bit of what I saw as viable. What mostly kills me is the LAG, especially if golden coin guys show up. In tabula, without leveled up gems, no quality, mid 250dps weapon and around 3.6k hp, t7-8 are a breeze, id try higher if I had any high map drop.

Attempted Atziri last night, didn't kill her, but it's actually the 1st time I see her. Wiped too many times on the Vaals, killed the 2nd 3 guys without dying and yah I need more runs to see what exactly Atzir does.

One thing is for sure, Im never going back to Vaal Pact

How are you getting 3 auras and why don't you like Vaal? Mind linking your passive a and gear? I'm interested in that build

It takes 100% of your mana, therefore I have blood magic on my 6link and ive combined ice golem + blood rage + blood magic.

I dislike the whole vaal pact for several reasons. First and foremost is heaving hitting boss fights like Izaro. I swear I couldn't do anything vs him on Merciless, especially with flasks running out.

With regen and no mana requirements, it just allowed me to constantly move and cast. I didnt even have to stop for more than 1-2 seconds. Blood rage takes almost nothing, which again allows me to having higher attack speeds.

Another reason is moving around empty spaces and having to constantly use flasks, as whirling blades is also connected to blood magic in the guide. I guess it's personal preference, but I find myself prone to dying a lot more, when my hp is constantly low in empty areas.

Yes, vaal pact is quite nice in crowded spaces and reflect damage, but I have to rely heavily on flasks and MANA steal. Now I don't have to really on almost anything but avoiding hits and constantly moving.

I had over 11 unsuccessful runs on Merciless Izaro, when I did the switch. Perhaps my damage wasn't enough, but with the same amount of dmg, I completed it on my 1st try with this.
