You have faster fingers. :) I'm still trying to get used to this new key layout. I zip to a pack, cast Contagion, ED, maybe Abyssal Cry if it's a blue pack - and it's already dead. Only single targets (boss/rare) live long enough to see Wither. The radius is good enough without support for any boss fight I've seen so far (Village Ruin was the hardest I've done with this build, about 5 times now).

Oh wait... You're in the new league and don't have Carcass Jack yet? There is your missing AoE support! :) You won't need to worry about it after you get this chest.

At first I recommended Carcass Jack, but frankly im not sure its needed. We have enough AoE range, and a chest with 100+ life and dual/tri res and high evasion can be more beneifical. But its not bad or something.

I've just edited my previous post. We are working on this in real time, pretty much! :)

Carcass Jack + Alpha + evasion nodes near Sniper/Nullification = awesome. I no longer need the interrupt avoidance nodes that I initially got because I was annoyed by the ranged packs interrupting my casting. Now I just evade everything trash mobs shoot at me.

Yes, you can get 50 more life on a rare chest, but the evasion + AoE radius + AoE damage on Carcass Jack should be worth it.

The main build is complete at 90, with an obvious option to grab one more jewel at 93, and then just go for more life nodes or extra jewels for the grind-happy.

By the way, the main reason I decided to drop Carcass jack is because Area Damage doesnt do ANYTHING to do this build.

Even Contagion doesnt get stronger with area damage (they stated it in the Q&A lately).

I missed that. Ok, then I guess Carcass Jack isn't really big for this build. 20% inc AoE radius is good, but you can get better things. I'll look for a rare evasion armor with life and resists. Shouldn't be hard to find something nice.

ETA: Found it! Didn't go for super expensive 2k+ evasion armors, but bought a cheap one with decent stats. Played with RNG instead of buying 5S and got 6S before 5. :) Didn't get lucky on the links, but 5L should do, plus I was looking for a socket for the Flame Golem (20% inc dmg) anyway.

3900 life and 5800 evasion now. This build looks better and better every day.

With what would you level this build ? Iam just looking for some casual SC fun this league and i basically hate flame totem. Can i do this by just getting more chaos dmg early ?

I personally haven't tried but it should be doable yes. You have to buy weapon and shield with decent spell damage, rush the chaos nodes and the Jewel nodes, buy proper jewels and u should be good to go.

Yeah, that's still lv 90 after completing the dps part of the tree. Lots of life nodes can be added. Got 1 last gear upgrade, 4k life now. I haven't bought anything expensive, but all my items have the best or 2nd best +life affix now, i.e. can only be upgraded by 10 life, if that.

I got more life on the new chest but lost about 500 ES compared to Carcass Jack. I hoped that the massive gain in evasion would compensate for that, but it only helps against trash. High tier bosses require a lot more to effectively evade anyway.

Are you sure? 30-60 life, 30-50% inc Projectile dmg (there are none with +55 life and +45% dmg for sale even in Standard right now). No resists. -10% movement speed. And Knockback.

That's another big sacrifice of +life that you cannot get anywhere else, and to compensate for the resists you'll need to find much better and expensive other pieces (probably jewelry).

At this point I don't think we need any more dps at the price of survivability. Our dps is a massive overkill for maps up to tier 9. But somewhere around tier 10-11 is where it starts getting harder to survive in most maps with random mods. Constantly re-rolling maps to avoid the combos that my other chars don't mind - that's not what I hoped for. The fun of blowing up everything in low-medium tier maps only goes so far. I want to do red maps.

Did we go too far trading survivability for dps? Try things like Necropolis, Volcano, Academy, Crematorium, Village Ruin - with multiple random mods (alch). See how often you have to re-roll particularly nasty combinations to avoid slowing down to a crawl, or skip the bosses.

Well, its a matter of taste. I'm the type of player who believes that in PoE a big part of your defense is the offense. The faster you kill, the less chance for you to die.

Everyone can play by his own variation and tweaks, but yes I do believe this gloves are welcomed in this build. You can even skip 'Sniper' mode and get 2 more hp nodes instead, you lose 30% proj damage and 10% proj speed but you get higher proj speed + proj damage from the gloves.
