What's coming in 0.9.5?

You can now get Passive Skill Respec points from a rare currency item and from a quest. A character currently earns a maximum of 8 from quests (across all difficulties). Each point refunds one skill point.

Will characters who complete the quest be given a respec point or a respec currency item? It would be worthwhile for the currency item to be given as the quest reward, so that people who plan carefully can exchange it for something else they need more.
nice! good job!

Another quick question about selling items. Will quality enhancing items be available as currency from vendors, or only orbs?

They will be available. Currently, for example (and this may change), trading a Quality=20 version of an item to the vendor gives you a quality upgrade item for that type.

wish you guys would do a wipe like you did for .9.3.

I support this, a lot. We need to get rid of legacy items really bad I think.

I also support this. There is just to many people running around with these items.

We have a solution for this that we're not quite ready to talk about yet.

They get a point rather than a currency item because we learnt the hard way in 0.9.2 that you can't give currency out for quests.

Heh. Good luck getting anyone to trade a 20 quality gem for a GQU. I see very few gems being worth to make that trade with. Curses, basically, and Enduring Cry.

For potions this seems about right of a ratio. For items/weapons, well, I think it will be the opposite of GQU - I already see people ignore Armor Shards/Whetstones on the ground. Who would want to bother with the inconvenience of dragging a 3-6 inventory slot item to just get 1 Shard/Whetstone?

Enough has changed with the currency system in general that players will need to re-evaluate all of the decisions. In addition to their prior uses, most things are now used in a lot of inter-related recipes.

Have to be honest. I was mainly expecting and looking forward to the vendors. After reading through the detailed list, it looks like a lot of good stuff is getting rolled in.

Can't wait to see it! Please do try to get it out to Beta before Xmas. First, nice xmas gift, secondly, I'm off of work for 2 weeks around xmas and I'll bet you can guess what I'll be playing! :-)
Oooh. Intriguing.

Does this mean GQU will actually drop now or raise by more than 1%?

Or perhaps drop system will no longer favor under 10% values for gem quality (I think I found a grand total of 3 gems with over 10% and 30 gems under 10%?)

I think he meant that shards/stones will have increased value due to them being components of recipes that players will want to use. I'd also suspect that level 0 gems would play a roll as well and scrolls.. etc.

If that isn't the case then the most horrifying part of this world is it's trash problem.

This is all great! I've been wanting to test put the currency system for ages. Any word on when the act 2 boss will be ready or better yet the beginning stages of act 3?
