Meanwhile BMBI is just ruining the forum for everyone else by floating around every other topic spraying salt everywhere. 'Cause that will absolutely net him a VP invite. It's pretty gross.

Asking for something like this at all is probably a good way of making sure you won't get it. The more you ask, the less likely it becomes. As for BMBI, I think it's getting to the point where those posts should just be reported as spam and/or ignored altogether.

Just FYI, I've no reason to lie. And it's probably not smart to invoke betting with money when you know a) I've thrown a lot at GGG ps you're welcome and b) it didn't leave even a dent in my lifestyle.

But hey, words and words and words. Doesn't cost you anything to say "I would bet money" on here. So why say it?

I never said what amount of money I'd be willing to bet. ;)

I've also never given you any indication of my means or my limits monetarily. It's one thing to make assumptions, another thing entirely to throw stones from inside a glass house.

I'll be honest, your income and lifestyle have no influence me at all. :P
You believe that to defeat an enemy who will stop at nothing, you must stop at nothing. How is that different than "blood must have blood"?

Is it me, or is this topic turning bitter?
There's bound to be bitterness. It's inevitable when "parents" start favoring one or more of their spoiled brats.
My dad is the strongest, he can lift a horse one handed.

Spoiler
he's a chess player
You have to be realistic about these things.

Did you ever expect anything else from some of the people here? Unfortunately, it's probably going to continue *at least* until GGG finishes inviting all the VP's and officially announces who got it(And I'm guessing that they're doing fairly thorough reviews of any nominee's posting history before inviting them, so depending how many there are, that could be a while.)
to take jealousy away from vps, ggg could tag posts they like with some "valuable post"-tag.

sure, it could (and probably would) open another war of "but i posted that suggestion ages ago" but in general it would improve the overal forum quality.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Hahaha. How have I never heard that one before.
It's an old joke among Eastern European chess players. It's not exactly mainstream :) It's also more intuitive in my native language because we call the knight literally a horse.
You have to be realistic about these things.

Yeah, this kind of joke is easy to make.
Like the fact that I'm a land owner : I play MtG.
