"Next level" stats please

even though this is a huge necro, i still think this is a very relevant topic. i'm currently lvling my witch up (lvl 28 currently) and i could choose to level up clarity but i don't know how much mana it will take up. I'm afraid of it taking up too much, but i have no way of knowing.

Please fix this!
Bumping.
I can't believe this still isn't implemented.
Wow me either, considering this was a topic for at least two years.
I have extra beta keys and I'm not giving them out

PoE1 > PoE2
Since this is already bumped, here's a practical suggestion: currently the only way to level-up a gem is to click the prompt on the right-hand side of the screen, or (if you've dismissed that) at the bottom of the inventory screen. That little prompt has two parts, a picture of the gem in question (whose tooltip is the usual information-dense info panel) and a "+" button, (whose tooltip is comparatively content-free text to the effect of 'yes, this is the button to press').

If GGG is worried about adding even more information to the already-dense gem info panel, why not add it to the tooltip for the button? It's UI that's connected to the level-up process, it's only present when the level-up changes are relevant information, and since PoE doesn't have any delay between mouse-over and the tooltip appearing, the new behaviour should be easily discoverable both for people who have been playing for years, and for complete newbies.

I imagine it would look something like this:
"

Level up changes:

Duration: +0.5s
Increased burning damage: +3%
Mana cost: -1%
Required level: +1
Required Int: +8
-----------------------------
Click to level-up this gem, or right-click to dismiss this message.

The only downside I can think of is that level-up changes wouldn't be available for gems that aren't ready to level-up. I guess this might be a problem if you've got two useful gems and only enough stats to level-up one of them, and you need to decide which one will be the most useful... that seems like an unusual need to me, and I can't think of any way to meet it without having the 'next level' information always present at the bottom of the gem info-panel.
There's a picture of this system already working in-house that's quite old, i have no idea why we don't have it yet.
I'm tired of saying this about a year, but still not implemented - its indeed unbelievable how that important feature had always been ignored..
"This is too good for you, very powerful ! You want - You take"
it has been implemented ! Iv' just saw it. I have Haste lvl 17 140 dex required, it shows me : under gem description a sentence : "next level 18 - require level 65, dex 144"

I must precise : i am talking about the description you see when hovering through the gem that is under inventory.. i don't know for gems at the right side of the screen..

There are external references available with that data.
It's no harder to look up than any of the other information (say item data), that isn't explicitly shoved down your throat in game.

I've also got a 10% quality mana leech gem that doesn't seem to gain any quality bonus.

It doesn't increase leech, it increase 'leech rate'. Leech is not applied instantly (in most cases).
Put the expanded information in the inventory window, where unleveled gems show up. Easy to access, already a relevant location, and easy to tuck out of the way when it's unwanted.

Dude, taht's the required stats, not the gem's stats. We are talking about the effects of the gem, not what you need to equip it.
