that is more dedicated to Glacial Cascade, and replace concentrated effect with added chaos damage.

also you cast when damage taken and immortal call are way too high, you want CWDT at level 3 and IC at level 4. having them higher, means you have to take more damage before it triggers.

you can reset the gems to level one by selling them both to a vendor and add two Glasscutter's prism, (one for each gem) you will get a level one of each.

also try and get hold of the Taryn's Shiver staff, or a pledge of hands (I seen some as low as 20c) that if you want to follow the ice nova build) and you might want to use Arctic armour instead of molten shell and replace the chaos golem with the ice golem.

also use Atziri's Step (they are pretty cheap to buy) they will help with your movement speed.

I admit, the build while fun is pretty squishy, so I can feel your pain in that regard. but then again, my dps is getting pretty decent, and gem quality is also beginning make a difference.

also what is your skill tree? and level? while I may not be able to help you more, those are just some things that I noticed. if you post your skill tree and level, I'm sure someone with experience will be able to help you farther.

I do agree that the build is very squishy, and I also feel that the golems in general don't really add much, (at least to me) also their health isn't that great in higher levels.
just checked poe trade, no 5 linked Taryn's on sale that are cheap. but I suggest you keep looking on that, in case you spot a bargain.

later on, try looking for a pledge of hands, they will really help, but you probably will have to save up again to 5 / 6 socket it and fuse it. so keep a look out on poe trade for a bargain, yes, you will suffer a dps loss for a bit, but the 30 level spell echo makes a hige difference, and you get a bigger mana pool to boot.


while not really a pro at this build, I'm saving up to 6 socket one of my PoH then some day hope to 6L it (I will pray to the RNG gods)

but anyway, yeah, the build is squishy, I am also having problems finding better gear, some good gloves with triple resists, but they cost a bomb (with decent health) good rings with health. as my current health is about 3.5, and sometimes I just get one shotted. so I've put the build aside for a while and levelling up another. am a pretty fast clearer, but stuff in the background can one shot me sometimes, (mainly hero mobs, or bosses.

I also found it pretty painful to level, at least until I managed to get hold of a Taryn's, then my dps went up a fair bit, and even more when I finally got hold of a PoH. in truth, your better off looking for a cheap one, (35 / 40 chaos and 5 socket it, and linking it) (to 5 socket it, either cost 150 fusings (master) or you are lucky doing it one at a time.

finally got my second PoL 6 socketed, and also got it to the right colours.

now comes the hard part, 6L it. I really hope I can do this, need to pray to the RNG gods and hope they hear me. after that, will be taking my ice witch for a spin with my brand new staff!

not sure I'm brave enough to vaal orb it, I think I will keep it clean, seems vaal orbing it is way too random, and if it changes the colours, or the links, (not make it a 6 link) I will be pretty much screwed. and the second staff is better the one the 5 L one that my witch is currently using.

I really think I will not take the chance, just don't want to really mess it up. and goodness knows when I will be able to 6L it either.

This build is very fun and the AOE DPS is amazing and clears super fast. However, now that I am mapping on Tier 10+, I find myself dieing more than I want. I'm not the best survivalist, I'll admit, and I would never play hardcore. I'm not looking for a crazy invulnerable build, but this build seems very squishy on Tier 10+ maps, especially when facing monster damage modifiers.

Sometimes my LW wont work fast enough to reapply the curses, and if it's 1 second too late, you often die from no life leech. Likewise, sometimes my Ice Nova doesnt work fast enough and I die again from not leeching life. I am not entirely sure what is causing this, maybe I am getting stunned? That's what I think because it happens much more on maps with huge damage modifiers. On top of that sometimes the DPS you have to take is so great that even spamming all defensive and life flasks can't save you. And Vaal Grace can't save you everytime.

I have over 70K tooltip DPS in town now, and over 4000 life, max all resists, and acrobatics. Am I doing something wrong?

It just seems like this builds entire survivability is based on leeching mana and life from warlords curse. Without this curse constantly up, you are likely to die. Because of the Less Duration gem for LW, curses dont last long, and if you cant reapply them immediately, you die.

It could just be that I suck, and I just need to be playing a ranged build. Are there any similar crit/POH ranged builds that I could switch to without changing up much gear or nodes on the passive tree? At level 86, I am just dieing WAY too much to be able to continue leveling and moving up the map tier ladder.

Sure, thanks pal. My tree is slightly different from the guide in that I am using Maligaros instead of Life/Mana/Res gloves. However, I think the stats are still close as I just moved some of the builds damage nodes to Life/Resist. I will admit that I did not get the 4th endurance charge or the 7th power charge because I needed more mana. I like to have 350 mana with 110+ mps regen for this build.

I mostly thought of my problems being more related to tactics rather than items and build. Do you guys ever have issues with casting LW or Nova? What I mean by that is I am spamming my LW or Nova, and the spell doesnt begin to cast for an additional 2-3 seconds after I click sometimes, which usually means death. That's why I was wondering about stun?

I would like to note that I have little to no problems with Tier 9-11 maps with only 2 modifiers. When I start to alchemy orb the Tier10+ maps is when I start dieing.

As for the problem you mention, once in a while the LW show the animation and doesnt actually cast it, but no issues with Ice Nova.

Can it be mana issues? otherwise I have no idea I haven't experienced any issue like that.

I dropped maligaros and went back to resists and life gloves. I respecced to much closer to your tree and I am doing much better now with the extra dodge. Thanks!
