[2.1] Crit Tri Curse Perma Freeze Over a 100k tooltip not counting curses 6k+ehp (no longer updated)

make sure your curses are up. Flasks also help mitigate. Rumi gives spell block. And you can always run a sapphire flask if you feel like.

quite squishy. died at level 83(HC) in a Phantasmagoria map. No damage mods, boss just rekt me.
Fun build. Will try again the the future maybe

Surprising, never had a hard time with that boss. What was your EHP, and freeze duration?

3500+1400 ehp

freeze duration... dunno, doesnt mather as i didnt even get the chance to hit the boss.

It mostly was bad play and positioning.

Not really, very little life nodes available. It will be extremely glass cannon. This build is not cheap, that's for sure. But its the best perma freezer out there since prolif was nerfed.

If you want to play life based Freeze Pulser I'd start out as Scion or Marauder.

To preface this build, you need to understand that in my guild, we try to make builds that helps the other party members. While we make them for solo as well, the main aim is to make mapping easier for the whole team. To this end we got to work creating a bunch of team friendly builds, this build is one of them.

Before you go "support build! ewwww!" I have some disclaimers. This build can do high level maps with ease, oneshotting pretty much everything solo. In fact it does so much damage, that I try to limit the DPS of the build in some cases, to make the guild culler able to actually cull stuff in parties. Other wise i will be oneshotting stuff even in a full party.

Second the survive-ability of the build is high, its a hybrid build so you can have 5k ehp easy without major investment into gear. You will also have at least 3 endurance charges always up for phys mitigation, as well as an immortal call linked with cast-when-damage-taken and increased duration. But the main defense is the freeze ability. Darresso cant kill you when he cant move. You can just hit him with impunity and laugh. (As well as any boss in the game)

So with that out of the way, lets get down to the meat and potatoes of the build. The concept is rather simple, use Freeze Pulse for its base high damage, and then get max projectile speed to counteract the damage loss at range as well as make the freeze pulse cover the screen.

The Freeze is accomplished by grabbing some freeze duration nodes in the tree, and then by lots of jewels. I currently have 5. And not counting the freeze duration granted by frostbite I have 114%.

Some Pictures of tooltip and character sheets.

Here is the gear I am currently wearing as well as the links for my spells.
Spoiler

As you can see it corrupted with our first curse elemental weakness, while a maligaro is BIS, you can use it with the curse on hit or opt for a clean one if its too expensive for you, or just use a different glove with the curse on hit corruption.

The Pledge is probably one of the better items you can use as a weapon, while you can use dual wands/daggers, or opt for a +3 cold gems with spell damage and cast speed, a six linked pledge of hands gives us compareable stats and double mana, as well as lots of cast speed granted by the level thirty echo, so without any cast speed in the tree we are casting five times per second.

For our third curse, the second curse is given by the tree, if you can get a additional curse amulet, you can then drop this item for a rare ring or a berek's grip for 1% life leech. Or just get quad curses.

A rare ring, not much to about it other then it covers our resistances and provides us with crit, life and es. Not the best ring, but not the worst. Don't really see a need to replace it.

A typical crit spell damage amulet. Not much more needed to say, just make sure you have a good one, it adds an easy 10k to your tooltip.

My helmet is certainly not the best, but it does the job. It help cover resistances and provides life and energy shield.

A decent hybrid belt. Life energy shield and tri res. A good foundation.

Resistances, life and movement speed. These boots are on top of my upgrade list, but they do the job.

I like this chest mainly for the life on kill. This negates one of the problems hybrid has which is chaos damage, as i dont have to life pot, on every pack that has a little chaos damage.

We use no auras, only two heralds, herald of ice and herald of thunder. Herald of ice is linked with curse on hit, warlords mark, and ice bite. The Ice Bite is nice as it gives us free frenzy charges.

Herald of thunder is linked with curse on hit, warlords mark, and frostbite. Combined with the curse we get from the gloves, we are tri cursing.

Spoiler

For Jewels you want to get mods that have freeze duration and some sort of spell damage. (Pure spell, or while wielding a staff) The other mods should Synergize as much as possible. (Projectile Damage, life, es, etc.)

So in the end I think the Pros of the build are:
1)Fast clear speed
2)Good survivability
3)Watching tough bosses like Merviel and Vaal go down without a single attack(even on twinned maps)
4)Help out your party members with tri curses and a frozen map
5)The comedy factor

Some cons
1)Some chaos damage bosses like Maligaro are tough since they like to desc the ground even while frozen (this can be avoided by getting better Chaos res on gear, have none atm)
2)Cant do reflect maps(although can handle the occasional rare that comes along)
3)Cant do blood magic maps
4)The new immune to status effect mod is annoying but still more then doable
5)Curse Immune Maps are annoying, and very hard post t12

Please remember that this is the first build guide I have ever done, so please try to be as constructive as possible in the comments. I am open to any suggestions for the build or the guide, will welcome questions, and will be happy to help.
For anyone that's curious, I will wait till I can play around with the build itself, before I update the guide. There are some very exciting things in 2.1 for this build. Such as Mana changes, spell buffs, Freeze Pulse is now even faster, and most of all blasphemy.

Hey Super, I'm lvl 82 now and just face-rolling shit, even freezing t5-t6 map bosses in like 5 man parties(provided the right circumstances).Im at 60k gmp so very close to you and super excited.
Note: I currently only have 68% Freeze Duration and 21% chance to freeze (2 jewel sockets filled)

Just 7 questions I have:

My Gear

My lvl 82 Skill tree Shadow

1st Q: Do u recommend I fill out the "normal" tree first and then do the remaining 3 jewel sockets or remove some damage from the tree and fill out the jewel sockets first? The Objective here is to Improve Boss Perma Freezing at the highest levels in full parties.

2nd Q: What is the MINIMUM Freeze Duration and Chance to Freeze that you recommend?

3rd Q : I replaced Elemental Weakness with Assassin Mark. What is your thoughts? Ps, those 3 pwer charges are pretty great.

4th Q: This is maybe a bit tricky but, can u explain the biggest factor/s that will cause you to perma freeze top tier level bosses? Is it hight crit milti, chrit chance, Freeze chance, freeze Duration or flat cold damage? If it is all or most of the above, In what order from most important to least important?

5th Q: What do you think of swapping out GMP/LMP for Point Blank? would that help perma Freezing the Top Tier bosses in Full Parties? Or would Culling Strike be better?

6th Q: What do you recommend on Jewels? I didnt see you mention it in the guide. But i guess: Freeze chance and duration, then cold DMG, Projectile dmg/speed and Crit multi / Chance if available?

7th Q: Is it viable to make this build Full Energy Shield?
