PoE's performance is poor for a lot of people

I just opened the web page. The first thing I saw was the news about the 2.0.2 content upgrade next week.

I could not help but think "why are they doing content upgrades at the moment?". Seriously, let the new content wait. A not-so-content-rich game which actually works is SO MUCH BETTER than a content-laden game which doesnt.

BTW I died today to lag at 99% of the level, then again at 97% (twice), at 91% (three times) and at 89%. Currently at 74%. Right now, I could not finish a simple mission from Elreon because I could not damage the monsters and was teleporting around the room (desync).
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

I get sub 30 fps in maps with burning grounds on a HD7870. If I can run The Witcher 3 at 60 fps, I should not be getting 20 fps in this game. Seriously. This is starting to look like a joke. It's absurd.

I uninstalled game yesterday because of poor performance. After 2.0 came out I've noticed that many of my deaths are result of fps drops. Even old areas seem to perform worse. I was leveling char, happy how it works and then in A3M I get less than 5 fps at Piety - first 3 deaths. Blood rain at Dominus - it was issue before, but not so big. In new areas with Maelstrom, I get significant drops once they hurl their balls at me. I spawned leader of fire warband. I was able to hurt him but my biggest problem was that his fire elementals and magma orb dropped fps so I wasn't able to respond during combat. I don't have to mention strongboxes, shrines, burning ground, CoC builds, discharge builds or even GMP magma orb builds esp. in party play etc etc. So how could I play such game? I can't.

My computer isn't fast. But I really don't see anything so impressive on the screen that would justify such HW requirements. We have small scene with fixed viewport. I would like to hear from GGG estimate of scene polygon count, size of textures and lightning model they use. Game is written in language using GC?


I only join Parties called "No CoC, No Minions, No Auras/Charges, No Groundeffects" so i've rarely encounter poor performance in the game...






















JK! I get poor performance almost all the time! :D

I freeze up on Strongboxes etc.

Do you really think that the guy who is doing the 3d modelling of in game pets is the one that will debug and optimize the game engine ... ?
Generally speaking 3D artist must work together with devs responsible for performance. You must keep track of your polygon count and texture size of your models. But that is offtopic.

they keep cluttering up the engine. Probably clogging the rendering pipelines often. I started playing in closed beta when I got the key on lottery, I had nV gtx 216c and c2d @4GHz, game worked, fps wise, great. Desync is another story but FPS was smooth. Now I have i5 @4GHz, r9 280x etc etc and game runs much worse, especially with lockstep mode.

They are a small team (GGG) idk if they can fix it, or if they want to, money keeps coming from MTX as it is so you know, if it ain't broken don't fix it! :D /jk
