[2.0.x] Iron Will Incinerate Totems 1200+ Strength, 16k+ tooltip, 8k+ life (updated 11/13/2015)
thanks for the reply. i had a feeling that was it... he says once you get a good rain of splinters you can change over but im sure he was assuming you were going to atleast be using a 5-6link as well.. even at 4l now it is starting to perform well. its my first build after being away from the game for over a year so i dont have the currency to get a 5-6l. ill have to tough it out.

" Yup, sorry if it seemed like I meant anything else by it! This build REALLY needs links, more than most any other build that can easily run on a 5L. If you are playing in Tempest, I'd highly suggest looking for a corrupted 6L with the correct colours if you cannot yet afford a higher end 6L. Otherwise I'd suggest picking up a Tabula and skipping out on your Alberons in favor of some high resist boots until you can change your chest out.
Updated some FAQ questions, corrected some grammar, and fixed a few details. Some family issues got in the way of my making more videos but you guys can expect 2-3 more in the next couple of days!
Feel free to continue asking questions and I will do my best to answer them :)
gotcha.. looks like only thing in my price range is a 5link corrupted but better than nothing... i havent played in so long what does corrupted do to the item? he stats appear to look fine.
edit.... ahh i remember now you cant alter the piece.. all good i found one w correct 5l colors anyways :) lvl49 and currently melting everything.. build working great Last edited by tony32p on Aug 9, 2015, 7:12:56 PM

Finally changed around 20-30 points and bought myself a new chest:
Got a decent Black Sun Crest and Alberon's Warpath as well, and two Doon Cuebiyaris. Still have some items to change but for now I feel like I'm definitely stronger than with Flame Totem. The only thing that's weaker is the survivability of the totems, but I imagine that will gradually matter less as my dps goes up with every item I change. I don't have any quality gems and my Incinerate is only level 18 so I have a lot of dps to look forward to. Current gear:

Where would you put the remainder of your passive points in a theoretical level 100 build?
| |
I couldn't figure out what I didn't like about your build and then I realized what was wrong....
It was a dirty marauder. =D I'm running the Ronda Rousey Helga witch version of this build on Tempest and it is pretty solid, I switched from crit flame totem to this build after heavy anabolic steroid use. Gear is pretty mediocre most of the jewelry is self found but it should get similar dps/life to the marauder version.

Eventually will drop efficient training and the two 30 int nodes for a good dps/life jewel. Pretty fun build, having more fun with this than my classic summoner witch. Optimizing. Besides getting better gear which is obvious. Was thinking about running level 20 chaos or Flame golem and level 20 animate guardian with 30 % damage aura items in a black sun crest with empower or +2 minion helm with +40 str +90 life/doubleresists. Would have to run a minion life flask and babysit your 2 pets but might be worth it. +1 curse corruption on neck would be really strong for this build. I like to run enduring cry instead of rallying cry in my build, so it might be beneficial for me to drop +1 merciless skillpoint for +1 endurance charge, and then take 4 points out of weaker life nodes for +2 endurance charges + 38% duration. So would basically be trading 23% increased life from nodes which is probably around 400-500 life for 12 % pure physical mitigation and burst protection with longer immortal calls. Was thinking about trying to fit in vaal haste, vaal grace, or vaal lightning trap in for bosses. Enjoying the build so far.
Theoretical 100 build

Something like that maybe. A Jewel with 3 to 5 of the following mods can be equivalent to 6 to 6.5 average damage/life nodes on the tree. The cast speed jewels are very lucrative as they are hard to get on the tree. So spending 3 nodes on strength, int, or %armor to get to a GG jewel becomes worth it if you have them available. Going from a 3 stat jewel to a 4 stat jewel is like getting an extra big node skill point. So if we are level 100 with 7 jewel sockets and 5 rares then we can stand to gain the equivalent of 30 skill points from good jewels. Yes they will be very very expensive. So if you are level 100 you probably want to start dropping elemental and weaker life nodes to get to extra jewel sockets. A perfect (non corrupted) jewel for this build would probably be. 7% life 5% cast speed while dual wielding 5% cast sped with fire/4% cast speed 16% totem damage/Spell damage/Fire Damage/4%cast speed A jewel like this is 1.75x avg life node (4%) 1.6x average cast speed node (3%) 1.6x average cast speed node (3%) 1.185-1.4x average damage node (13.5%) This jewel would be equivalent to ~6.135 average skill nodes not factoring in the stats you get from traveling to it. But jewels like this are very very rare/expensive and probably not practical in tempest league but fun to talk about. The good jewels you are going to find in tempest are probably like 4.5x average node power. To get a jewel like this you would probably need to regal 100+ two-stat jewels and then maybe 10 would be relevent to fire totems, and then exalt the last 10 and maybe one of those 15 would be a jewel like this. Not sure if your odds would be better to chaos spam. ____________________________________________ cast speed 4% cast speed with fire ~5% cast speed while dual wielding 5% spell damage while dual wielding 16% fire damage 16% spell damage 12% Life 7% Totem Damage 16% 12% projectile damage 13% chaos resist 10 all resists +stats
" Hot damn that's a pretty chest. Gratz :D " If you're having trouble with your totems living, Spire of Stone tends to be pretty solid for the build. When my spell totem hit ~level 18 was when it stopped being too bad for me but Proj Speed is also a big thing for survivability since more things die from farther away. Get that Incinerate to 20q and you'll see. " yay! " Depends a lot on my gear really. My current plan is to wander over to Master of the Arena and then maybe just grab the jewel slot by Berserking. I'd love to eventually get some Int/Dex problems sorted out which would free up even more passive points to play with. " You take that back! Marauders are sensitive, loving people who just don't know how to open up :( Your witch version looks really solid though! I've always been curious whether it could be doable as the only alternative to my build currently is a Templar start with roughly the same amount of points, Templar just gets some more damage. " If you run enduring cry, you'll just need to swap out the level 1 CWDT + Immortal Call + Inc Duration. You pop all your charges too often otherwise for Enduring Cry to be usable. A definite solid alternative is to simply run Enduring Cry (level 20) and then have a level 20 CWDT + level 20 IC + Level 20 Increased Duration. At that point yeah, swapping your merciless skill point over to an Endurance Charge and speccing into one or two more early could definitely work. I am currently leveling another CWDT in my weapon swaps to test this out later.
" I'd probably favor the one I linked below over yours. Yours ends up dealing more damage due to the jewel slots but I'm a pansy that likes a larger health pool :p https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAwEAAecEswUtBg4J9g48FCAUTRRxFm8YkRkuGjgaVSSqJbwnLyftKhMspy5TMZ41kjboNuk6UjrYOuE8LT38QzFG10d-SsRN41BHWGNY5VnzWitfP2EhY_1lTWZUZp5nm2hYaGVo8m87cYVyD3KpdO11y3aseA165nrvffWCB4Kbg1-DzITZhO-Fe4cpidiMz41-kFWaO6IAo_KmV6yqsUK18rc-vJ-9Nr6nwBrAZsT2xq7G2M2Yz37Tb9R81I_VpteW2L3ZfNrB20_fv-DD4XPjauRR6hjqYuw47TzvDvAf8kHyRfMR8932SPau9zL46_rS_Ev-Cv6P Otherwise yeah, I'd love to get my hands on those perfect jewels you mention. So far I have had little to no luck with regaling/exalting. The best jewel I've rolled so far was a 6% life/10% spell damage/16% totem damage/+11 int. |
